day 1406 – fielding 

it’s a dry day, so out with the old peeling mitt and in with the new mizunos. our lineup was smaller than usual but we managed. playing rover again today but it’ll be my first time batting third. softball game made my day better when playing with a good group who’s there to help and listen. i’ve had better days; but cracking balls, venting and getting my hip checked out helped indeed. chiro said due to my active level, my body will cycle through progression and regression. sharp pain will happen but he knows it won’t stop me so didn’t even try, but he reassured me he’ll get me back to my good state

day 929 – resurrect

tomorrow i am going to get some me time to reboot both my mind and my system. i feel i need some time to regroup and make sure i’m back on track doing things i need to be doing and doing things i enjoy doing, for the right reasons. the past week or two has been lousy where i am just going through everything mindlessly like a robot but not thinking twice about what i am seeking out of it. and during this time, there’s either been a lot of emotional eating or unhealthy thoughts and choices made. i really should put things back into it’s proper routine and get back in the right frame of mind to make the best choices for myself moving forward. february is a short month, so better not waste time and get back on track as soon as i possibly can

day 847 – secret stash

i think my mom’s addiction to avocado just got worse. i came home and my mom was eager to show me the four new packages of ripe and ready to eat avocado sitting on the counter. this is good news for me because i will never run out of avocados for my salad. feeling a little under the weather today, with my headache getting worse throughout the day on top of a sorry back from all that deadlifting yesterday. but toughed it out for yet another trip to the gym and also out to run some errands

day 795 – weekend warrior

feeling like a weekend warrior so i woke up early for a brief tennis session followed by gym. i am sick, but that doesn’t really stop me much, or at all. all this was completed before noon so onwards with the rest of my day. i miss going to this place so much but i know i will be back and need to be back much more consistently. my schedule this fall season just got a lot busier in a hurry but i wouldn’t complain because as long as my body can handle it, i will do it

day 669 – circuit

haven’t been to gym for a while because i needed a recovery week and break after having completed my promotion test. no break between training for competition and blackbelt test so got permission for a well deserved time off. went through an exhausting circuit this afternoon and thoroughly tired. jumping back straight into a crazy workout usually gets me pretty sore next day. it is a good way to close off a successful month but the training commences again and nothing gets easier from here on

day 293 – the long road begins

been putting off proper rehab for my ankles and knees and using temporary fixes throughout all the training. now that the nationals are over, it’s time to do proper rehab to train and strengthen it for long term fixes. physio was very angry and will not let me continue without addressing these issues. will be a long and difficult road ahead, but i am determined to do whatever it takes and stick with it to fix the issues and continue to train and do the things i love. because i believe what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, and i am out to prove it

day 171 – bruised

swelling and bruising appeared immediately after a knee collision sparring in my friday night class. i suppose it could have been a lot worse but very fortunate it’s inches above my kneecap or else i would be done for and would need to call off all trainings scheduled for this week and instead be at the physio right away
