a sunday going across the bridge to north vancouver, west vancouver, then granville island. hit up the lonsdale quay market and park royal before some fancy seafood. this isn’t our usual calibre for dinner, but came here for the patio dinner and that view. treasure the extended time together; it only happens on special weekends. it was an enjoyable good day but i’m disappointed i couldn’t keep the better part of me to myself
getting outside for some fresh air because being trapped indoor makes me bored and drowsy. even though temperature is up in the thirties, it’s not so bad when there’s shade under the trees and water to calm my soul. the hike did it’s job; i came home recharged and finished my poster graphic. i had a lot of technical difficulties dealing with gigantic files, constantly compressing and keeping the file sizes down was a pain
taking advantage of the sunshine by going on a short hike up burnaby mountain. peeking beyond the trees to catch a glimpse of the undisturbed water and islands out north. i can’t explain all that’s going on inside but getting out into wilderness draws my attention away from life challenges and disturbances. but no matter the situation, trying to not let it get to me. all that’s waiting for me is just beyond the horizon
more of teaching my taekwondo this morning plus another workout in afternoon, and i was ready to eat dinner. spending time with mo by going on a little north van adventure. laying back in the evening picking away at our hurricane grill burgers under the sun. it was a hot day, but perfect weather for a patio dinner. i was already feeling the monday blues nearing the end of the night and really didn’t want sunday to end
i’ve always been reminded to never take life for granted and live life to its fullest with no regrets. flashback to last year when i was one with the wave and riding on water for the very first time. i crossed off one thing from my bucketlist that day; i wonder what it would be this summer. summer season is upon us once again and if we’re not careful, it will flash by before we know it
sixteen hour super long day today running on five hours of sleep is no doubt taxing. started the morning off at master cup championship, then checked into dodgeball playoffs filling in for a depleted team, another pit stop at the gym before going out for dinner and then a friend’s friend’s place for some games. i must admit i am ultra disappointed not becoming tier 5 champion because i had high hopes to lead this team somewhere. nonetheless i still had tons of fun and wouldn’t mind getting another stab at it next time around
spending labour day on the water going for my second bout of wakeboarding and first bout for wakesurfing. much more enjoyable than the first spending much more time on the water instead of in the water. was unsure if it would be fun in the freezing cold water, but the wet suits made it alright. good way to close off an adventure-filled summer and probably marks the end of a season and the coming of fall. and maybe, just maybe, next summer i will be learning how to flip and do tricks for surfing. sad to see summer go but it was fun while it lasted, until next time!!
