day 868 – finger fix

image

just trying to get help for my finger by having an acupuncturist poke me repeatedly with needles. in order to decrease the swelling and bruising, draining some blood out of my finger is a must. she told me it’d hurt a little and that i will lose six to seven drops of blood; she told me not to panic, and i didn’t. maybe it’s the fact that i didn’t, that she decided she’d go through the process twice. i would admit it was painful especially having her squeeze it out, but i am disappointed i didn’t lose twelve droplets nor did i manage to get good snapchat footage of the process

day 775 – inflexibility

image

it’s that time of the month again, or the start of another training season that begins really soon. stretching for real for the first time for what must have been at least seven weeks to see how much flexibility i have lost. man, it’s not a good sign when my legs and joints are feeling this tight. it won’t be fun but i guess that’s what i pay for with my laziness and procrastination. one way or another, i will need to regain the flexibility back in a matter of days. the sporadic laziness during the so called offseason really doesn’t make my life any easier

day 758 – physio checkup

image

having my regular morning physio check up and it was a positive one, held up nicely since last visit and that’s huge for me. it’s a sign of progress and a big step in the right direction considering i have been doing a fair amount of my activities during this time span. my reward for having such positive feedback is some trolling courtesy of my physio and kinesiologist who demanded some unexpected numbers and then threw a curveball at me. i had a lot of hesitation but they gave me the sense there was no way out of it knowing i must do it or i am not going home

day 729 – physio remedy

image

decided a little blenz remedy was necessary after finishing my morning physio. because of my ankle, didn’t have to do any prescribed exercises but still had to do muscle stim which is always a struggle. physio asked me to get some rays done for my foot and even wrote an interim report to my family doctor in case i skip out on the scans; he knows me far too well. getting realigned and released was important but also gave me some reassurance and peace of mind that i am going to be okay moving forward

day 654 – kinesiologist revisit

imagemorning physio and revisiting one of the kinesiologist i have seen years ago but haven’t seen at the clinic in ages cause it’s been a long time since i last had a saturday appointment. but nothing really changes since both my kins are alike in some sense, except one challenges me more and the other makes fun of me more. the same routine applies: he gives me an exercise and i will complain momentarily, he doesn’t budge then i go off and do it. it was an easy day comparative to other visits, but muscle stim is never easy. got my back beaten up because it is so tight from all that throwing and lifting

resolution series

image

starting a new series called resolution series inspired by an article based on 30 new year resolutions people in their 20’s should make or consider making to develop and prepare for the road ahead. the second decade of our lives is when we discover the most about ourselves as a human being, and learn to pave the road for what is to come in the future. this is the perfect opportunity to explore, experiment and experience all our options in shaping ourselves and becoming the person we want to be. there will be difficult times when it seems like there is insurmountable obstacles and challenges that lie between the start to finish line, but just know that it will be worth it in the end. i live by, and am always reminded, that when there is no pain, there is no gain. i hate thinking of the regrets in the past so here i am trying to take my life by the horn and live life to its fullest without regrets. i cherish all those that have entered my life and made a positive impact in all ways possible and i hope i have impacted other’s lives likewise. without your support, patience and guidance through all the ups and downs, i would not have the strength and motivation to continually make improvements. you listened to me when i vented, you lifted me when i fell, you held me together when i cried and ultimately showed me the meaning to true love and friendship. i am grateful for who i have become but i am not satisfied with where i am at. it’s never too late to make resolutions and changes towards a better me

day 615 – physio visit

imagelooking out the window while resting between exercises and waiting for physio to hook me up with muscle stim. did not expect he would cranked it up an extra ten counts but here i am going strong at sixty. it was so painful but no words came out of me, all i could do was stare back at him and think to myself no pain no gain. no doubt he has succeeded in building up my pain tolerance over the years. the intensity of the shock was so high it left two big circular burnt marks on my leg
