day 1941 – wanchai

one wishlist item on my hong kong trip is to ride the old school tram. i did just that today heading to wanchai from central. this district is crazy packed on any given night, let alone a saturday night. i stopped by my friend’s family burger shop but decided not to bother his dad seeing the already jam packed restaurant. instead, we ate at a small noodle house and walked around some famous strip including a school converted shopping mall

day 1929 – bugis market

first full day in singapore and we were greeted by a thunderstorm on our way to the hotel. so far, we’ve seen a variety of weather from thunderstorms, pouring rain, and scorching heat. we touched down on bugis market on our first night, a district famous for its street foods and street vendors. we walked through the crowded blocks where things were decently priced. i went home having bought a few pieces of clothing for work

day 1924 – 98 degrees

been looking forward to attending the concert of my favourite boy band back in the 2000’s. the inside of vogue theatre had an old smell and uncomfortable seats. i saw a dozen familiar faces and funny enough the person who sat on my other side was also someone i knew from dodgeball. good thing we didn’t have to stand the entire time. i had a good time jamming away, but i just wished that they sang more from their own album and less of christmas songs

day 1585 – christmas with company

it’s not often, but sometimes i try and could look quite classy too. it’s that time of the year to dress up for the annual harrison hotsprings company christmas party. the party was catered buffet with an open bar. came out having enjoyed good food, lots of photos and a nice big door prize. the dinner party was just the beginning; the after party was where the main event was at. perfect time to put on the party hat to join in on the games and the shots of soju that came with. it was a good night of partying that didn’t settle down until 3am. i’ll be tired and maybe even hungover, but i’ll enjoy myself to the fullest

night time stroll in the whistler village after pigging out at earls kitchen. taking some time to digest the delicious steak we devoured and admiring the pretty lights on the trees. i wonder if the lights are only up during this time of the year; although i expected the olympic rings to be lit up as well. we’ve walked to and from the village numerous times but still seem to lose our ways every single time

dodgeball at pubs

image

photo proof of this season’s unforgettable night at the pubs. i had a blast at rdl’s skittles pubnight and vdl’s pirate pubnight featuring lots of food, games, raffles, puns and not to be forgotten – the booze. it’s always a good time hanging out with other players i wouldn’t normally get a chance to see or play against. it’s also the place where team bonding happens because things can get a little wild

day 1200 – pirate night

image
vdl goes pirate for this season’s pubnight. i’ve stayed away from spiked drinks for much of the year, but pubnight is usually the only time i allow myself to drink some. taking a few shots early on with the team and then marcom department. i was definitely feeling over the top for a while, but had to sober up quickly to continue some exec duties. i was skeptical about going before, but luckily didn’t miss this season’s main event. i thought i could brush it off the downer feeling, but once again, i’m reminded that priorities are not set equal

day 1147 – evening

img_20200204_2157105248211974803072588.jpgthis is where i was in the evening, doing my thing in the architectural building. today was a really strange day which no routine, no structure where i had no proper meal. the conflicting feeling when i felt like i did a lot of things and at the same time felt like i did nothing. i don’t like it this way, let’s go back to the structured life and restore a little order and discipline

day 1075 – richmond night market

image

hard earned time with mo after a long sunday full of taekwondo, with a workout sandwiched between teaching¬† and demo rehearsal. we enjoyed the last of our weekend at richmond night market and the company of each other. there was nothing worth buying, there rarely is at the night market, but it’s still fun strolling down the aisles. it was unexpectedly crowded; we decided to purchase the zoom pass to avoid the long lineup at the entrance

day 1023 – knutsford happy hour

image

after a morning and afternoon of family time visiting both grandmas on opposite side of the city, i was off on my own schedule. representing fifty percent of the underconstruction crew in knutsford – a version of lan kwai fong. we had happy hour drinks and potato wedges. i kept my promise and stayed away from alcoholic drinks and ordered a mango passion fruit mocktail instead. our post shopping meal was at a noodles shop called tam jai sam jor. i really can’t afford to get any fatter on this asia trip
