day 1786 – thoracolumbar


not how i had planned out my thursday. i had to leave work early, miss bootcamp and skip softball to visit my chiropractor, and only then i found out i injured my thoracolumbar junction. i’m in so much pain i couldn’t rotate, bend or reach. i was told to tape it up if all else fails and i tried. i was told taping own back is next to impossible but no one was knowledgeable and i desperately needed it so i proved it can be done. i struggled for over an hour before being able to put it on in proper location and proper tension. as i was doing so, i noticed in the area that is most jammed is a bruise the size of a softball. this is going to mess up my schedule because chiro said i really should let it rest for next couple days

day 1719 – golden ducks

i’d be the first to say i didn’t play a good game yesterday. i think overworking the past few days has gotten my whole body into a funk. at least there’s proof i did do something useful on the ice, leading the attack into sharks territory. my blades need some sharpening before i play next game, and hope i make up for the lack of effort with tomorrow’s game in squirtle debut

day 1699 – matchsticks 

a totally different kind of sunday where i didn’t wake up early and didn’t break a sweat. a change of setting and spending the better part of my afternoon sipping on cappuccino and working on my homework. yesterday was my hat trick day in sports, today is recovery day. many body parts ached and my legs didn’t want to move; it took a lot to get off my bed this morning. this day is a good opportunity to get some work done and keep moving along with things i ought to do for myself

day 1686 – skate tongue 

playing for the first time with my skate tongue in and i kind of like how the skate is more snug on me. the order of putting on gear will have to be slightly altered but that’s something to get used to. not feeling great after a barely catching any sleep, but still had to push for a rushed deadline today. took a nap alongside some tylenol and even then just wasn’t quite enough to be in game shape. my reaction and timing was off, but i did play a well defensive game covering for centres and coming back for odd man rushes. tempted to take a little time off work if possible; a little rest would be nice for my current tired soul

day 1518 – office props

this workstation of mine is filled with recovery props and drugs. my headache erratic and unpredictable; it seems to get better and worse whenever it wants. at it’s worst, my head feels like it’s being compressed and there’s no enough oxygen the flows through. my immune system may already be used to the constant supply of tylenols. i tried really hard to work through it, but there’s a point that i thought i should go home instead of suffering through this at work. i probably shouldn’t have taken on tutor after work and get more rest as needed, but i don’t like canceling last minute

day 1411 – bone buldge

the bruising on this left foot is looking worse than hours before. i couldn’t put on skates today but that wouldn’t have mattered anyway as i’m way too sore from too much activities yesterday. maximal soreness results in minimal movements; my back ached, my calves tight, my hip flexor restricting, my foot and shin bruised and my si joint problems still persist. the soreness isn’t a big issue, it’s the persisting joint pain and abnormal bruising that worries me

day 1404 – priority list 

fitbit shows me i need to put myself higher on the priority list and sleep a little more. sadly the amount i worked this week doubled the amount of sleep i got. i never really got a break and the start of another work week is in just a few hours away. i’m not looking forward to next week working all seven days. i am not always guaranteed a weekend, but at least this week i still have sunday off as a small breather
