day 2167 – spiderman far from home

it was a very good day. i had good snatches and strong paused squats before catching spiderman far from home with friends. i redeemed myself from last week’s poor showing by working up to two kilograms shy of my personal snatch record. also feels good to add five pounds to my paused squats. i walked into the cinema feeling great and perhaps watched my favourite spiderman movie of all time. i thought his newest suit is the best looking ever and wished that i could have waited before buying mine. this one is probably one that i would rewatch once it’s made available for streaming

day 2159 – biking stint

spent canada day olympic lifting, hanging out and having some fun inside and out. while some needed a power nap, i borrowed a bike and took it for a short spin to visit the office. it was a little risky since i haven’t ridden a bike in vancouver for years and years, and never on the streets sharing the road with cars. after a short stint on the bike, we went to watch men in black movie. it wasn’t the best of movies, but i still enjoyed watching hemsworth. i’m so stoked spiderman is coming out tomorrow, and can’t wait to catch it in theatres

day 2052 – dessert delicacy

dinner, dessert and movie night with the group of girls to celebrate two march birthdays. trying out the new cheesecake and chocolate mousse cake from aberdeen’s spirtea. it’s one of those things that you can’t have all of so to share both the calories and the cost. we had sushi, assorted roasted vegetables and juke fried chicken while streaming bumblebee. it’s always good to catch up with the group now that some of them left the company

day 1980 – spiderverse

the first blank page in 2019 was written by spiderman in spiderverse. i couldn’t turn down my friends again two times in three days so i rushed over from my consult to hit up cineplex for spider verse matinee. i’ll be honest and didn’t completely understand part way when multiple ‘spiderman’ showed up, but like all the spiderman movies in the past, they never fail. not a bad way to start the new year kicking it off with a movie. but just as the new year begins, work in back in business tomorrow. it’s been a chill and relaxing string of days off, a luxury i don’t get. i haven’t felt recharged for the longest time so i will wrap everything up and begin the new year strong

day 1977 – big screen television

the delivery guys brought the new television my parents ordered on boxing day. after installation, we realized we need to buy a new tv stand that’s wider because the existing stand wasn’t built to hold monstrous screens like this. i never once thought my living room would have something almost cinematic. it totally redefined the definition of big screen television. now imagine reclining my seat to watch all the movies and sports games on high definition

day 1974 – aquaman

watching movies in theatres nowadays is so pricey. i don’t catch many movies in theatre on their first week of showing, but aquaman was too good to pass up. i liked that the background story was well presented. i’d rank this one up there with the rest of the marvel movies. bumble bee, spiderman and grinch are next on my list to watch or stream. note to self that boxing day shopping isn’t only a morning, it’s a full day of craziness especially metrotown

day 1715 – ready player oneĀ

girls night out to watch ready player one and eat teishoku. tuesdays are known for two things: taco tuesday and cheap movie night. this is the way asians think to get the best bang for buck; otherwise regularly priced at twenty four dollars. aotoya was good, but the service was so slow we literally waited forty minutes before food was served. as such, it made me miss my basketball game which was disappointing, but i was too hungry to pack it and go
