day 1935 – bubble tea alley

got to appreciate a good lunch date with hamberite that started with fancy poke bowls and finished off with bubble tea. the alley was coined as one of the best black sugar pearl in the city. i wasn’t going to have too many on this trip, but i wasn’t going to let this one slip away. i haven’t had bubble tea in a while but man was this one good. we walked around mongkok and shamshuipo for the rest of the afternoon. i’m always good to know that last connections like this still exist

solo series [day five]

another day of sub par sleeping, i am beginning to believe it’s not a result of jetlag. perhaps I just miss my own comfy bed. waking up at 4am has been the trend this whole trip

walking the streets of mongkok and yau ma tei on saturday mid day is not the brightest idea, but that’s exactly what we decided upon. as if the mtr and city streets were not busy enough on weekdays, weekends can be described as scary busy. a hamber friend took me to a nice waffle restaurant for lunch. of course, we ordered a savoury waffle plus a salad to share. we also grabbed bubble waffle; one of the items on my must-do list before i leave hong kong crossed off. we talked a lot and caught up on what’s been going on related to school, work, family, boys and life in general

my left knee is hurting throughout the day. i’m a little concerned as i’ll be needing my legs for tomorrow’s hike. this will be my main source of exercise on this trip as i have given up on acquiring trial gym passes

day 1025 – waffles waffles

a fellow hamberite showed me hong kong life through waffles. we were very ambitious when we decided to hit up mongkok area on a saturday afternoon. we shared a savoury waffle for lunch and then later shared a bubble waffle for afternoon snack. so much eating and no exercise isn’t making my body very happy. to be fair, there’s a lot of walking around involved, but it’s just not the same
