day 1922 – scholarship

grandmaster handed out scholarship to a few of us at the annual celebration party. it’s his way of encouraging us to take the next blackbelt test. to be frank, this amount covers only a small portion of the large sum. i’m not sure where i sit with this decision because it doesn’t necessarily change anything for me. there’s many reasons i don’t need it, but also many reasons to just do it. i’ll give it a little more thought over the course of the next month and see what type of commitment it requires

day 1567 – cashing it

it’s that time of the month when i have to do my finances and bookkeeping. counting money is included in my responsibility and it’s something i do often. holding onto a stack of bill like such is quite the feeling but like any banker, it’s only for feel. i’m all ready to be in the numbers game and learning about strategizing my funds and investments that will be the pivotal point

day 1462 – raising

first day of august which is also the day my new salary kicks in. i worked my butt off for this day and i will continue to work even harder to make my case. my manager said that he intends to take me as high as i would like. i’m in it for the ride and still on have my eyes on the target working towards that unit of mine. there’s a reason why i’m constantly working; because i know what i want. it’s about wanting to build my own empire from the ground up

day 1441 – autowest

i brought my german toy into annual maintenance for oil change. upon sitting down with the service advisor, he advised a few more parts to be upgraded or will soon need to be replaced, each item ranging from a couple hundred bucks to seven hundred. i’ll wait on those and in the meantime consult other technicians for professional opinion before making any decisions

day 748 – bottle man

image

this guy looks like he’s doing well hoarding those recyclable cans and bottles. wonder how he does it and if because i could learn a thing of two from him to get our competition fundraising going. if he keeps collecting at this pace, he might just break out of bankruptcy with that collection, or get him a week’s worth of mcdonalds artery clogging double cheesebugers. random thoughts and findings of the day to keep my boring monday drives to a minimal

day 718 – long overdue paychecks

image

i am very happy to finally receive my long overdue paychecks dating back to january – yes, you got that right. really needed this money because i broke my bank lately and cash flow is as low as it has ever been. i guess the delay is partially my fault that i have been so busy and couldn’t clear the account when the spreadsheet of the breakdowns were given to me

resolution series: [thirty] save up

image

often when the the topic of saving comes up, everyone immediately thinks of the bling. but sometimes you have to look at a broader picture of wealth. by definition, wealth means assets; it does not only come in money value, but also comes in knowledge and experience that you possess and the quality of people that surround you. i consider my family an asset, for they are who have raised me, who taught me everything i know and gave me everything i have. i share all my past with them and they do the same with me. the amount of support i receive from them over the years is immeasurable and cannot be calculated in any currency. friends is another asset, because they are who you grow up with, learn from and play alongside. together, we shared countless memories that no one can take away from us. and then of course there’s the financial side of wealth, which unfortunately no one can live without. to save up is to make sure you retain those valuable connections with family, friends, teammates and soul mates. for those you want to continue growing old with, treat them well and take care of the relationships you don’t want to go without. being successful starts now, in planning ahead and building up for the future in all aspects including people. every small increment will grow and over time and will add up over time

…and that concludes my resolution series. hope you found it enjoyable to read as much as i enjoyed writing it
