day 487 – new and old

my new phone case finally arrived at my door, it took so long to deliver i almost thought it got lost and would never get to me. from the naked eye, no one could tell the difference between the two, me neither. and that’s totally normal, because they are exactly the same only one is new and the other is not. i am stubborn minded and like to stick with the things that work for me

looking further ahead and thinking for long term is the smart thing to do now. its never a bad thing to start early and create a good habit to control monetary usage and handle cash flow with care. at a point where i should start thinking about investments, assets and things that would affect the markets. the last thing i need is to see my bank account balances dip slowly because of poor monetary management and unnecessary expenses. that means, controlling the frequency of eating out, holding back often temptations for online shopping and differentiating between wants and needs. its no secret i put much emphasis in my technology, my car, and my taekwondo gear. i like shopping and i love new things, who doesn’t? online shopping has made it so easy for me to make purchases, i could be spending way more than i would want to without realizing until i receive my credit card bill in the mail. for example, it doesn’t help that i have not used any phone model for more than two years, in fact, record shows i have had four phones in the past four years and three laptops within the past six years. recent investment in yet another uniform to add to my ever growing collection of taekwondo gear, but i swear this time is for a good cause

twenties series: [five] technology

some arguments were made that technology is altering people interaction and that we are losing the ability to communicate with face to face conversations. that may be true on some level, but can’t argue that technology is a powerful tool that has also brought us many conveniences like never before. sure, the increased gaming opportunities isn’t a good reflection but a little wouldn’t hurt. no one can argue being able to send a short message or quickly snap and send a picture through our mobile phones applications in a matter of seconds is not convenient, the simplicity to check in or tag your friends in photos to share, or the ability to retrieve an email the second it arrives is not efficient. let’s be realistic, who doesn’t own a computer or cellphone these days and who still uses land line as home phone?? the technological world is advancing so quickly, the fastest and most efficient way is to constantly be checking all sorts of platforms. i must admit i am a culprit of relying on technology everyday, every waking hour. i don’t see how that can be a bad thing because just by checking up on social media, it allows me to catch up on some friend news, gossip new and world news even if it means reading them off my facebook wall. i admit i am the person who would be swiping on my phone at the dinner table; but in my defense, being a busy person makes it is not all unncessary activity, but i am working on minimizing that. bottom line is i feel so lost and naked without my phone, i simply cannot live without technology and i don’t think its a bad thing

day 405 – techy

announcement of new iphones made me think of my phone collection. love every single one of them and keep them all in mint condition. it’s crazy how reliant i have become on technology especially noticeable with the recent crash of my laptop hard drive that gave me plenty of extra stress. over a week since i lost all my data and i am still trying to recover the great deal of lost vital data and documents
