solo series [day six]

i got a full eight hours of sleep last night, best i’ve slept since arriving. that works in my favour because i am well rested for my hike today. met up with my friend and two of her friends to do my first ever hong kong hike at tai mo shan that began in tsuen wan west. transiting to the base took over an hour and the hike took a total of three and a half hours. the trail wasn’t extremely difficult but it had dangerous sections. it was pretty good experience minus all the bites despite spraying on a lot of bug repellent. i am all tired out from the long hike, one ankle is swollen, as i expected

another highlight of the day, and another must-do thing on my list, was having taste tested the special mcdonalds pulled pork burger and successfully finishing it myself. it tasted good but i felt like a fatty with it inside my stomach

tomorrow will be my final full day in hong kong. i have set aside the morning to see my fanling grandma once more before i leave. i should also double check to see if i have completed the hong kong portion of shopping list

day 889 – not a chance

this went out the door as fast as it came into my mailbox. in the past i would’ve left it on the counter waiting for someone else to claim it. today i threw it right out with no hesitation cause i want no part of this overpriced junk. i am confident to say turning down fastfood is something i would do in a heartbeat. making healthy choices simply because i want a well maintained system that won’t break down prematurely

day 437 – filthy meal

feasting on way too many mcdonald’s chicken nuggets and large fries late night after so called hard training session. this can’t be good in the final week just before our competition, or at any point in time. damn the craving, screwing up my my attempts to eat healthy. guess it’s a good thing i haven’t had mcnuggets in a long time and we just had an impulsive craving for junk

day 221 – cheat day

the savoury fries and curdiness of the cheese tasted so good while i was eating it but feeling extremely guilty after having devoured that. told myself i must keep a healthy diet so will have to avoid fast food from diet for a while, mcdonalds,wendys and timmys see you not so soon and do not tempt me

day 170 – just had to

after finding out mcdonald’s is featuring poutine on their menu, i had to give it a try. not bad i must admit, but i don’t know when i will be having another. broke my stretch of healthy days with my first fast food of the year. but then again, it’s only been seventeen days into the new year

day 84 – happy meal

some swag i received from my grandma in hong kong. the little things that she remembers that makes me feel like a special grandchild even though our normal means of communication is through long distance phone calls. best grandma in the world, i wish you were not halfway across the globe so we could go to mcdonalds together
