day 2260 – girls catchup

long overdue catchup for the girls. even though we’re all in different companies now, we’re still able to maintain connection. i think not being in the same departments made it more fun when sharing the information we know. sometimes when i hear what they say about their new job, it makes me wonder why i’m still at this company. i don’t necessary care for the spotlight, but it’s having my production goes unnoticed and often taken for granted

day 2246 – cta 2019

call to action conference day two was much the same – more learning and more networking. the hype of the swag chase died down. conferences like this presents great learning opportunity, just tough on my body because i’m not used to sitting and staying still for long periods of time. i walked out with a couple friends to have a sushi lunch close to tinseltown. unbounce fed us plenty through the two days. i didn’t attend the after party, but i heard there’s a lot of food and drinks offered

day 2245 – unbounce conference

i can count with one hand the amount of times i transited in the last year, and today was one of them. day one of the unbounce call to action held in downtown. i started off the first two sessions sitting with the rest of the marketing team, but i wandered off after that. i felt more comfortable being on my own and had a chance to meet new people. afterall, marketing conferences are meant for networking and meeting others alike. i was also glad to see a few familiar faces from my sports circle. aside from learning, the goal of today was to collect all the swag i wanted and i did so in the first half of the day

day 2198 – desk reconfiguration

i’m asked to reconfigure my workstation again because marketing team was said to be too far apart. at least i don’t have to move again and only have to change my desk setup from right hand side to left hand side. i’ll still get to use my giant monitors as acoustic panels to shield the noise and distraction from the high traffic area. a good chance to clear out my desk and get ready to leave it for the weekend

day 2175 – render glitches

sketchup glitches getting in the way of updating hampton prototypes. what’s modeled isn’t what comes out in the interactive rendering. it’s not something that can’t be fixed, usually simply closing and reopening the file or removing the item and replacing it will do the job. most updates for the casual scheme are complete queued and waiting to be rendered. part of a renderer’s life cycle is clicking the render button and waiting for the crop to appear

day 2149 – new spot old spot

funny after swapping desks several times within the last year, i’ve come a full circle back to my old spot. the only difference is i’m not sitting here as part of the marketing team as opposed to the design team. there’ll be more traffic and noise where i am now, but i like that i get some additional meeting space and round table behind me. wherever i am situated, my workstation setup doesn’t really change much

day 2145 – department change

going to work on monday morning with mixed emotions because the switch in position and department is considered a promotion. the fact i’m removed from the department i’ve grown with leaves a sour feeling. also having work with someone i need time and space from is rather uncomfortable. still, work must go on and i’ll be professional about it and keep the interaction at a business level. at the end of the day i just need to get my stuff done
