day 1846 – uncle tetsu

i have no idea why my mom ended up at metrotown but it was a good coincidence. she brought home the highly sought after cheesecake along with honey madeleines from uncle tetsu. as soon as she sent me a message with a picture of the goods, i knew i was in for a treat when i get home from my hockey game. jabba da puck didn’t bring home the victory to force game three, but it was a good run for the cup. it was still a good spring season and being finalist isn’t too shabby

day 1745 – mom appreciation

the fact my family is going on vacation starting tomorrow means an early mothers day celebration. i don’t show enough, but i truly appreciate my supermom that never fails to take care of me. we rarely go out for vietnamese food cause my parents don’t like the seating, but had to try this place since it’s a highly touted authentic vietnamese restaurant. the lineup outside is always so long, somehow we got a table within fifteen minutes of waiting. this prices wasn’t cheap for sure, but the food was really good, especially the lemon grass chicken. when i said may is a busy month, i do mean it

day 1697 – shoe gallery

as part of spring cleaning, i machined ashed some of my shoes thinking it could be fried since it’s nice out. who knew there would be sporadic callings of hail nearing the end of march. enough of the cold wintery weather, i’m ready for some nicer and warmer temperatures. i would like to get out more this spring and summer, especially more tennis and hiking than i managed last year

day 1599 – open practice

was in for a treat to an exclusive canucks event of open practice plus meet and greet. boeser’s line up was by far the longest but so thrilled to have taken a photo with this good looking fellow and even gotten his autograph. it may have been another casual practice for them, but i watched with excitement and my nerdy side came out. i left happy having gotten a few more photos and autographs, including arguably the best goalie in canucks history

day 1489 – tax free spree

spreeing at woodburn because it’s tax free shopping. i set out looking to buy casual shorts, ended up buying everything but that. the sales weren’t super good like it would be next weekend, but i pass on the lineups and settle with the deals we can get this week. a sore spot happened where i walked off cause i took exception to how i was being yelled at; that killed much of the joy from the preceding spree

day 1474 – serious dessert

line ups for premium ice cream shops are always this long, but if we always turn around like we did last time, i’ll never get to try any of them. my whiskey hazelnut and london fog double scoop cone was worth my wait. it was not a bad sunday, but i would see the norm every so often and wonder why it’s not like that for me. that thorn will be inevitable, for as long as it’s not addressed it will be a reminder of what hurts

day 1451 – sandlot sub

a light drizzly day isn’t going to stop a softball game so here i am playing another game with the sandlots. it was a close game each inning, but taking a win from a tier b team is pretty cool. rotated between second base and back catching. it’s fun behind the plate when there’s good pitching; the ump also kept things interesting. i consider getting on base twice quite am accomplishment playing against above our tier
