day 1107 – yonder

image

taking advantage of the sunshine by going on a short hike up burnaby mountain. peeking beyond the trees to catch a glimpse of the undisturbed water and islands out north. i can’t explain all that’s going on inside but getting out into wilderness draws my attention away from life challenges and disturbances. but no matter the situation, trying to not let it get to me. all that’s waiting for me is just beyond the horizon

day 874 – box jump

image

decided on a chill gym session on my off training day, but reality is, i shouldn’t have any off days anyways. all this holiday splurge of food is doing me all bad and no good. my latest targets has me working on my vertical just so i can take my pursuits to the next level. i didn’t make this height today but i know pretty soon this will be mine. i am just feeling ambitious and taking on new goals and new challenges heading into the new year

吳若希 – 我沒有傷心

i made this long weekend the deadline to make a big decision as to which path i wanted to take. i think i gave him enough chances and now i’ve made up my mind that it just wasn’t meant to be. the decision is made and i am happy i did because i will be able to live with that rather than having it linger on any longer. being on the edge of a relationship is tough, but i will be alright because love isn’t life’s entirety; life must go on. i am sure there comes a time when i will cross path with someone that was meant to be

resolution series: [twentynine] walk away

you can say life is both long and short. how much you get out of it is entirely up to you because you are in the driver’s seat controlling the wheel and choosing your path. the shotgun may have inputs on which route to take and passengers may try to initiate backseat driving, but in the end, you are steering the wheel and that’s what matters most. somehow i find an amusement park resembles a person’s life at different stages of life. each day is very much like a ferris wheel; there’s a routine and certain tasks you must complete and once that cycles one round, you get up and do it all over again. and then there’s a roller coaster where it takes much time to build up and then go from absolute high to the uttermost low in a matter of seconds, or milliseconds. the hardest part of life is living a life doing things you hate doing. makes waking up every morning that much harder than it already is. it’s time i learn to step away from the things i dread doing and concentrate on striving for the things i like. maybe a change is in order to leave behind the load of what isn’t my responsibility and pursue what i am passionate about. in the end it is taking the good out of the grand scheme of things and making the most out of what you can, not what you are given. if you don’t like what are you doing, don’t follow blindly, walk away and choose your own destiny

today’s struggles

image

when times get rough and life gets tough, i try to remind myself that it’s only training me to be stronger for tomorrow. if the road to success was plain and simple, it would not be worth the sweat and hard work. understand that no matter what happens, there will be someone out there watching over you and ready to give you support when you most need it. and know that someone will be there to catch you when you fall, but ultimately its up to you yourself to stand back up and carry on. i know very well that if i stick with it and put in the effort, its just a matter of time before i get the results i want. it’s all about taking the necessary steps knowing everyday i will be stronger than the day before. because nothing beats being able to do something i couldn’t do yesterday and only i can change that

twenties series: [fifteen] issues

image

after living for twenty years, you ought to know that life is full of challenges similar to a game of baseball that will throw fast balls, knuckle balls and curve balls whenever you least expect it. learn that no matter how many times you fail and how hard you fall, you just have to get up off your butt and attempt again. i have learned that i am not flawless and there are many things that needs improvement, but i am willing to make the changes required to be the person i want to become. still working on getting rid of all negative vibe and set a good examples for the younger ones i take under my wings. in the end, my ultimate goal is to be a positive influence to the people around me and leave a lasting finger print on their lives in some form. i will set my mind on doing what i want to achieve and prove all those doubters who once said there are things i cannot do. remember to always keep your eye on the ball, your head in the games and everything else will take care of itself. no one is born perfect, no one will ever come close to being perfect but those who try to be who they are will be the happiest. in other words, just be who you are and everything else will take care of itself

…and that wraps up my twenties series. hope you enjoyed reading up on what my thoughts are as much as i enjoyed writing them. hope to do more series soon

twenties series: [nine] self improvement

every person runs their own race at their own pace and only they can control their own destiny. there’s a definite start to the race in life, but indefinite finish line, so how is success measured?? knowing that we need to improve in one thing, but knowing how to make that improvement is another. everyone should be constantly evolving and changing in one form or another, the lack motivation to improve may have dangerous consequences because no one wants to be left behind in the dust. i want to be the person that sets my own limit and leads the pack, someone who others would want to catch up to and not be spending my time chasing the pack. its important to me to set goals and work hard to constantly take steps forward towards making that goal achievable. i am trying me best to take every opportunity to make the necessary adjustments in order to get better not for others, but for myself. work hard at what i believe is right and value and don’t look back to regret what i should have and could have done. because the knowledge i attain, the skills i acquire, the distinctions i receive are all things that i naturally should do feel proud of, not because someone said i should. the climb towards setting my standards and setting my own limit only gets steeper, and only when i reach a small peak is when there’s a little plateau to realize how far i have come. the ultimate goal is not about being the best, its about being better than you were yesterday and doing the best you can possibly achieve
