day 1968 – fishy game

i have missed quite a few games this season due to vacation and illness, but here i am playing in the final fishsticks game of 2018. this is one big team full of dirty players and yappers who pounced on our short bench with three quick goals. despite being the underdog, we slowly chipped away and eventually ended the game with a tie. i tallied our first goal and it could have been easily a hat trick. i was robbed on two point blank opportunities. i was gased by the end because of our short bench, but it definitely felt good contributing on the score sheet once again

day 1839 – gym socks

got on the highway and turned for home when i found out i left my gym socks at home. ended up hitting nash after dinner for a quick session of front squats, one of the few barbell exercises i can currently do. nothing like lifting some iron after many consecutive days of rough days at work. some days i question how sane i am to still be at this office. i really do miss this nash now that i don’t come as often due to work and commitments. but it’s here i find myself most comfortable and the place where i get in the best lifts

day 1770 – bootcamp

the office bootcamp is underway and the first session the pace was too slow. i guess the trainer wanted to see where the general fitness was at since we have quite a mixed bag. everything was pretty standard body weight exercise; too much jumping jacks for one day. although it was slow, i did break a sweat simply because it was quite warm being under the sun. i wanted to go to gym afterwards but thought about it twice since i had penta in the evening. i hope the pace and intensity of these bootcamp picks up in the next eleven weeks. hopefully this kickstarts and stabilizes my own fitness routine again

day 1620 – game ready

first game back in league action after a three month haul of rehabbing and a lot of waiting. it was a painful process that i never want to go through again but i’m glad it’s behind me now. i’ve long for this day to come and i’ll admit i had butterflies leading up to arriving at the rink. stepping on the ice for my first shift was a little strange and that comes with no surprise. the calibration process didn’t take long; i felt much better and adjusted even on my second shift. perhaps getting the adrenaline going and focusing on the game itself got my legs back under me. it feels so awesome to be officially back in game action and no signs of ill-effects coming from my hand. the happiness that’s running through my body well after the game will probably keep me up, but i have a good reason to smile and points to show for

day 472 – bruise lots

image

feels like i am bruising by the minute and i just can’t stop it from accumulating. this is just a portion of the eleven bruises on my legs, there’s also several on my arms and back. i must have done something sometime when i clearly had no awareness. also banged up my wrist big time it’s completely out of commission to hold or do anything. better fix some of this soon or will be a shocker when my parents return
