day 2110 – staying home

didn’t really celebrate mother’s day other than sending a whatsapp message to my mother who’s in hong kong spending it with her mother which i’m sure is very special for both of them. i didn’t feel like going out or doing much at all. it’s not like i could have gone to the gym to lift anyways. i was content to stay home and spent the afternoon watching an epic raptors game seven win. it’s great to see the raptors keep their playoff run alive

day 1986 – triplets

achieving the triple monitor setup in my bedroom is a happy moment. phase one of my room remodeling complete but wouldn’t have been possible without the help of my dad. he who helped me build my shelf based on what i modeled up. phase two is in the works and i’m excited that my room is getting a long sought after face lift. needless to say, i’ve spent quite a bit of money lately and hopefully i can lay low for a while

day 1699 – matchsticks 

img_20200130_2157192903269362552636604.jpga totally different kind of sunday where i didn’t wake up early and didn’t break a sweat. a change of setting and spending the better part of my afternoon sipping on cappuccino and working on my homework. yesterday was my hat trick day in sports, today is recovery day. many body parts ached and my legs didn’t want to move; it took a lot to get off my bed this morning. this day is a good opportunity to get some work done and keep moving along with things i ought to do for myself

day 1579 – sunday workday

it started off having a laid back sunday morning before getting into work. good that i don’t have a 7:30am start on sunday as well so i could sleep in a little after a late night of partying. had no urgency to sleep after a night like this, but once in a while is okay. worked another blackbelt test and the rest of my time spent completing a bunch of modules. banking these extra hours hopefully to pay off and gets accredited for in the future

day 1344 – laying low

the work hours crept by so slowly but at least i was trying to work. at times i still felt dizzy with headache and wished that it wasn’t only wednesday. multiple body parts are wrecked and needs more rest than i will ever give it. surprisingly able to pry myself away from the gym and even decided against dodgeball. instead i spent the evening doing some overdue tedious calculations, paperwork and catchup

day 1040 – matinée movie

sunday is our recharge day; we needed it more than any other sunday. we were both spent from spartan race and other activities yesterday, but that doesn’t stop us from getting our iron fix. for the rest of the day, we occupied ourselves with low energy consumption activities such as catching a matinée movie, window shopping and a short stroll. the temperature spiked today but the weather was beautiful, dripping sweat with the slightest movement

day 1004 – winding down

glad i made it through a crazy long saturday and able to sit and wind down at the end of the day. woke up early and got my day going with a strong morning gym session and ended the day nicely with mellow night out and quality down time. sandwiched in the between was a mediocre afternoon; teaching was draining and training felt pretty unproductive because my hamstrings are feeling miserable

day 965 – reading up

having some down time amidst my busy schedule is never a bad thing. spent my alone time being productive at timmys and doing my readings before i go off to training. i am only on the first chapter of this book, but everything that’s been said totally relates to me. this might help pull me out of the many competition ruts that i stumbled upon. why have i not read this book way back to my first competition days??

having a busy schedule is good because that means i am always productive and proactive. my schedule is usually packed seven days a week, twenty four hours a day, and often needing more time in a day to squeeze everything in to accommodate everyone. it can also be very tiresome because i am always stepping on the gas pedal as hard as i can dashing from one errand to the next. but is accommodating and meeting everyone’s needs my top priority and the sole purpose of living? sometimes, i do wish to have more time for myself away from the rest of the world. aside from taking care of business in the public scheme of things, there are also planning, thinking and number crunching tasks that goes behind the scenes that often gets overlooked. these things tend to be handled in my spare time, which so happens to be time sacrificed from eating and sleeping. i like my personal space and enjoy time alone but it’s very hard to come by. when i am alone, i am able to sit there in silence and reflect on things while putting things into its proper perspective. i find being at the gym gives me that sense of privacy where i can plug in my headphones and shut off the rest of the world. the same can be found when training at taekwondo outside of class time, when all those annoying people don’t interfere at all the wrong times. it’s one of those moments that i will do my thing so don’t you dare come into my bubble while i am in my zone focusing on myself

day 656 – parents update

the long weekend continues and i get the privilege to sleep in without worrying about my alarm clock. woke up to see updates from my parents with photos of where they are at. the latest update has them in paris doing all typical tourist things, which makes me jealous and wish i could be traveling as well. what makes me most jealous is they will be watching french open live and witnessing federer play live is something i am longing to do
