being labour day, there wasn’t much to do on this statutory holiday. i’m all hiked out this weekend, so decided against going out and was perfectly fine staying indoors. a home cooked montreal steak and beet salad paired with two netflix movies. we watched guardians of the galaxy 2 and coco. both movies were good, but coco stood out more, i guess there was less hype leading up to this. finished off the movie binging night with a vanilla caramel drumstick
collecting all my hockey gear that i used to take over the porch this weekend. people say their water turns murky black after soaking their gear; mine didn’t change colour so i’m not sure if i did it right. regardless, it was the small window of offseason; i now have clean gear to use in anticipation of a busy season of hockey. i find labour day weekend is all about cleaning and catch up work, as if i was getting ready to go back to school
whenever labour day weekend rolls around, i feel the need to get some the last of vitamin d before rain hits. good thing it’s still a hot day so i spent it with a stroll at fisherman’s wharf. the heat wave was strong today as with this summer season, but i’m not complaining. a change up was welcomed, maybe there’s hope that things will get better. illusion or not, my heart will soon tell it’s genuine. i’ll let it be the judge to see if it can be mended
spending labour day on the water going for my second bout of wakeboarding and first bout for wakesurfing. much more enjoyable than the first spending much more time on the water instead of in the water. was unsure if it would be fun in the freezing cold water, but the wet suits made it alright. good way to close off an adventure-filled summer and probably marks the end of a season and the coming of fall. and maybe, just maybe, next summer i will be learning how to flip and do tricks for surfing. sad to see summer go but it was fun while it lasted, until next time!!
