day 1390 – western style

our mastery dish of the week features wild alaskan salmon paired with tomato sriracha spaghetti and broiled asparagus. improving our cooking skills and going towards iron chefs. we’ve tried chinese, japanese and now it’s time to go for that western style. i like switching it up and eating at home instead of eating out so often. the good news is we haven’t burned down anything or gotten food poisoning

day 1383 – mapo tofu

my family is away in asia so we had our’s early. this is the perfect time to have some lomo time. i’m stuffed from our home cooked meal as tried our hand at making mapo tofu and siu mai. it turned out very tasty.  the only adjustments i would make for next time is taking out the black bean paste and the proportion of tofu to meat. we’ll be using each other as test subjects while i have the entire house to myself. the weekend passed by too quickly but it was a pleasant one

day 1357 – florida bound

the day did not go as planned, especially not before i take off for vacation. my work day was cut short because i threw up everything i had eaten the night before. all i could do was go home and hope that i get better after sleep. i ate a bowl of plain congee for dinner before checking into yvr for our red eye flight to florida. it all sounds like a rocky start but everything about our florida adventures must go on as scheduled

day 1327 – belated celly

our significant day was delayed but not forgotten; finally getting around to celebrating with some finer dining. it’s a stepping stone for both of us and a much deserved night out. we’ve shared a lot and made the most of everything. of course we’ve had our ups and downs and sometimes i can’t help but feel distant, but i’ll still try to take the good with the bad. in every relationship there’ll be a mix of surprises and disappointments, i chose so to dissipate it and not let it affect me too long and turn the page from the recent built up frustration

a good day doing mostly the things we enjoy like watching midget hockey and wishlist shopping before a pig out and a quick stop to admire the christmas tree at mcarthurglen. i didn’t cross off anything on my shopping list but he found good deals on what he was looking for. just taking advantage of our time off during the holidays and soaking in the festive season while we can

up whistler mountain we go for our little weekend escape with a blend of indoor and outdoor time. we skied whistler mountain on the first day and blackcomb mountain on the next, but both days returned to our hotel mildly frozen and then instantly warmed with a cappuccino. a great way to celebrate our ninth dining at earls and pigging out on my sirloin steak which isn’t in my normal diet. i had a good weekend not working, not stressing about school, not responding to emails, and almost undivided attention on skiing and of course mo. ideally would’ve liked to get more skiing in, but it is what it is and i’ll be sure to have more chances later this month. it was fun while it lasted, definitely looking to extend it on the next one. i have a feeling we’ll both want a warmer destination on our next go

day 1231 – whistler village

sleeping in on day three and final day of whistler getaway. before i go, i wanted to make sure to pay another visit to the olympic rings in the village. as much as i wanted to climb it, it’ll have to wait until next time. driving back to vancity was not fun with an irritated eye, but made it back to home. it was a weekend full of everything and now must get ready to grind again; my workaholic life resumes
