day 923 – therapy

one of my goals heading into this year was to stay healthy and injury-free. my first physio checkup of the year; props to my body for making it out of january injury-free, or enough to stay functional and let me continue doing what i do. past couple days my body signalled something was misaligned and it was indeed correct. got my hip and knee fixed and a checkup for my finger and wrist. my body is getting better at spacing appointments further apart but physio warned my next checkup can’t be stretched out as far as this one

day 826 – tape addict

there’s no denying i abuse athletic tape and going through rolls and rolls of tape is something i am accustomed to. i rummaged through my bag tonight only to find six used, semi used and brand new rolls of tape. my dependence on tape and braces has become so strong, i feel that it would get me through my activities and i will be a-okay . i always believed that athletic tape, braces, bengay and advil are the solution to most of my physical problems. no matter how banged up, bruised, sprained or sore i may be, these will allow me to continue training and playing my sports as i wish

day 775 – inflexibility

it’s that time of the month again, or the start of another training season that begins really soon. stretching for real for the first time for what must have been at least seven weeks to see how much flexibility i have lost. man, it’s not a good sign when my legs and joints are feeling this tight. it won’t be fun but i guess that’s what i pay for with my laziness and procrastination. one way or another, i will need to regain the flexibility back in a matter of days. the sporadic laziness during the so called offseason really doesn’t make my life any easier
