day 1848 – open ice

taking advantage of the open ice available since both my spring season of jabba and civil war season came to an end. the radar gun was also on hand so i took a few shots and peeled off once i cracked the sixty mark. i tried a few slapshots but it didn’t feel good enough to continue. the smartest thing to do is to practice my edges so not to over exert my shoulder. also put in some time to work on some weak side forward edge and backward crossovers

day 1816 – short bench

i got home from two games of hockey and collapsed on the floor. first of the two was as epic as it will ever get: an ultra short bench with six players and a goalie. one sub through forty five minutes of play and my legs were so done after jabba i didn’t think i had it in me to play a second game. luckily my mental state overpowered my physical and forced my legs to keep skating until the end of civil war. i ended up playing a pretty solid game and scoring another goal. now leading all rookies in both goals , points and shots on goal. after all the physical output, i deserve all the rest i can get tomorrow

day 1760 – jabba debut

saturday night hockey continues, but with the civil war gang. two hockey games that coincided and i had to give up the drop in. a short bench and high tiered opponents were the story of the night. they were skating circles around us so not giving them the shut out was already a win for us. i was pretty gased by the end, i figured i might as well chill at boston pizza with the rest of the gang

day 1679 – morning ice

sleep felt more like a nap when i decided to wake up extra early to join my teammates. an abbreviated version of sleep was what it was; upped my already early starts even more so to 5:30am so i can be on the ice. putting in the work for a productive full gear session with valuable take backs. needed a few more dosage of caffeine to get through both the work day and tutor. fatigued by dinner, i had planned for an early night which never happened

day 1482 – playoff pump

was super pumped for my playoff game and ready to play hard as i took my freshly retaped stick and sharpened skates to the rink. i played the strongest game i possibly could and had the firepower from the very beginning with a goal and an assist to show for. i skated on the top line, earned myself powerplay time and also awarded player of the game. even though the loss tonight ended the chick’s season, there’s still tons to take away from this season. i have taken great strides this past season and it’s really an accomplishment when the guys in the locker room nominated me as most improved player. better yet, even guys i play against are acknowledging my the progress i’ve shown

day 1473 – game development

a steady development in my game lately as a result of playing with the higher tiers, receiving pointers, and just getting more ice time. a good day of hockey for me that started off well in britannia, but drop in is where it clicked; even with my aching body and tired legs, i felt strong on my skates. i thought i played a solid game gaining more confidence on the ice whether carrying the puck, driving to the net and playing good positioning. it’s nice when the opposing players compliment on your game, especially the goalie on my shot. it makes me smile a little he said i have a dangerous shot cause both speed and accuracy is there. i hate it when opposing guys take my lightly just because i’m a girl, but the fact they check me harder is a sign of gaining respect

day 1459 – stick checkĀ

struggled in the first game after taking a stinger to the knee but after a short rest, i found my legs and played a very good second game. skating on the second line is was fun; i played up to the pace of my linemates, made good plays, received passes and even cycled in the offensive zone. i think i did many right things and positional hockey. it made me feel good when guys on the bench said i played it well, though after the second bout my legs cramped and kept me from falling asleep
