day 1785 – pvc roller

on the ground for hours icing and rolling myself out after feeling the pains of a pull. i hadn’t noticed any pain or spasm until i got home and adrenaline wore off. prior to that, i had gone to class to work on more combos, cheat seven twenties, cartwheels and back tucks. i was quite pleased with my stuff today especially getting a handful of back tuck practices in with less spot. i feel better about it and it’s just a matter of getting the confidence now to making it over with no hesitation. in the meantime, i’m doing everything possible to alleviate this pain sensation i’m feeling done my back; and an appointment is upcoming

day 1527 – iced knee

bounced off the floor hard when i dropped down too quickly to the floor. my chiro was on site but there was nothing he could have done for me there. there’s no taking it easy and i hate sitting out.  the damage is already done so i might as well continue playing through it; finished the night and immediately slapped an ice pack on it to stop the swelling. despite bruising up bad, it’s always a fun night playing with the girls. i am a little doubtful to be healthy for saturday night’s rivalry

day 1447 – edgy

my ankle was tender and swollen even after icing the night. haven’t seen a doctor to look at the bone but i was determined to go to nash regardless. so determined i iced on my way to work and while at work. did everything to force it because i wasn’t about to skip another leg day and leave any regrets. i went through my normal routine minus the box jumps. i’ve noticed my strength is returning to me and happy to take that one plate back. good sign squatting and deadlifting didn’t cause any additional pain

day 1300 – less sensation

it was a bad ending to a monday night aggravating my hip at dodgeball shortly after having pulled it at taekwondo. i went home the whole way not having sensation in my right leg from my hip down; not a feeling i’ve ever felt. my night has been rounds of ice, heat and patch repeat. i can’t get my mind off two things: what happens with my competition and can i play my games this week. i’m doing lots to make it go away

day 813 – ligament troubles

image

physio appointment can’t get any earlier than this. having a 7am appointment basically meant that i was still half asleep and struggling to be coherent which made it almost impossible for me to clearly explain to my physio what had happened at the time of injury. i mustered the most vague explanation, physio was better off finding the answers and figuring out the severity of the injury himself, and he did. he went through a series of tests to check for ligament tears and thankfully reported negative, but a ligament sprain isn’t something to be taken lightly by all means. today’s appointment had me on both ice and then electro, and that usually signals a prescribed rehab process is on its way. so that means no sports or physical activities until he says otherwise

day 809 – sad knee

image

not a good sign when it twists laterally, makes a popping sound and then gives in. what looked like a harmless move wasn’t so harmless, afterall i am dealing with a knee that has a long history. got home in pain and to see it swollen only makes me even more concerned. there’s nothing i can do at this point except ice and rest and hope that it feels much better than it looks. the severity of this remains unseen but i do know for a fact that physio appointment comes earlier than initially planned and that i have a lot of options to weigh in terms of continuing with my plans this week. my kinesiologist never fails to give me the dagger as he forewarned me the possiblity of a ligament tear. i am still leaning towards taking the risks

day 725 – plans ruined

image

guess who’s not going and not capable of going to celebration of lights fireworks tonight. i sprained my ankle this morning but life and teaching must carry on without showing my pain to others. strapped on some tape and onwards with teaching, won’t know how black and blue it will be until it’s unwrapped. this ruins a lot set plans and puts a lot of my upcoming activities in jeopardy
