day 2131 – amsterdam centraal

we added another country to our list by making an impromtu day trip out to amsterdam. it wasn’t a bad idea until we realized a two and a half hour train ride, one way, is actually painfully long. during the day, we almost melted because we were basically outdoor all day and it was thirty one degrees at one point. the city had a lot of historic buildings, bikes, canals and floating flower markets. it was a nice place to take photos and enjoy the scenic walk

day 2107 – swollen infection

when i look down at my ankle, it’s safe to say there’s something really wrong with it. i got myself into my chiropractor because i thought my ankle was locked, jammed or sprained of some sort, turns out i needed to go to hospital more. the size of my ankle is twice the size of my normal and there’s random bruising on my ankle bone not to mention it’s burning inside. he suggested there’s an infection and get it checked out as soon. me being me, i checked the emergency wait times and declined. i wasn’t going to spend six hours at the hospital, but booked in to see my family doctor tomorrow morning

day 1810 – dragon and demo

ten years of early morning stanley park doing walk with the dragon in what must be thirty degrees. it’s never easy getting through one these but this year is different; sifu is not in town to give orders from all directions. nonetheless, being under the sun in blazing heat for five hours drained all the water out of me. the demo went fairly well and we got out of the venue before 1pm. my heel started giving me problems as i was leaving the park. when i got home after lunch, all i couldn do was lie down. there was no point in going to hockey in this state, i was better off taking a nap before dinner time

day 1748 – foul territory

i was five feet away from possibly hitting my first ever home run. i had never struck the ball so hard in my softball days and if it only shifted five or so feet to the right, it would have landed in fair territory well over the left fielder. we played a high tiered team today and got creamed but we’ll be back on the field for more softball come thursday. it was a scorching day with sweat down my back even when standing on the field. on my drive home, my car registered thirty degrees celsius

day 1421 – solstice begins

on days like this being stuck indoor away from windows isn’t ideal. the weather looks to be good for the rest of the week with the start of summer season. temperature is on the rise and it’s just one of the reasons summer is my favourite, for it brings sunshine to my life. all the fun summer activities awaits. maybe this will brighten my mood and bring me to a better place

day 1359 – universal studio

a full day of universal studio under the blazing sun can be exhausting. every so often, we scampered towards the shades to cool off. i had a good time with the walk throughs and rides; it felt like i was reliving my childhood. we covered pretty much everything we wanted including transformers, minions, harry potter, men in black, shrek, simpsons. i wouldn’t have been content leaving the theme park not having done them. it was a lot of walking in one day; my right ankle is acting up like all asia trips, but it’s well worth it

day 1040 – matinée movie

image

sunday is our recharge day; we needed it more than any other sunday. we were both spent from spartan race and other activities yesterday, but that doesn’t stop us from getting our iron fix. for the rest of the day, we occupied ourselves with low energy consumption activities such as catching a matinée movie, window shopping and a short stroll. the temperature spiked today but the weather was beautiful, dripping sweat with the slightest movement
