day 2341 – multi screen

this is my holiday season, the break i’m entitled to just be a sloth. however, there are some unfinished business at work that needs to be done. ever since i came across this edition of prince of tennis, i have been crazily addicted. i’m binging this series day and night, and staying up until 3am hoping to finish it before my holidays are over. meanwhile, though my work is visibly there on the other screen, i’m doing nothing to it

day 2339 – burnaby museum

gave up on aurora winter festival for burnaby heritage museum because the admissions didn’t make it appealing. i went in with little expectations considering it’s free admissions. there were a bunch of picture worthy backgrounds. it was drizzly but the weather cooperated for the most part. we took the pictures and left for some bubble tea. i finished off the night with a few late night episodes of prince of tennis

day 2336 – tong’s christmas

the annual christmas dinner at tong’s residence never has any shortage of tasty food. as a tradition, mom makes a delicious stuffed turkey every year. this year, to complement the turkey were cauliflower pancakes, roasted bacon wrapped enoki, turmeric salmon, baked rice and green salad. a special day is meant to be shared with the special people in my life. thank goodness it wasn’t a full day of eating with no exercise. it was nice to step out for a couple hours to train a bit at flightclub

day 2334 – little human

this little human came into work with her mom today but didn’t want to be with her. instead, she spent much of her time at my desk. she kept my busy by asking me to keep her busy. she wasn’t into drawing or colouring, so i gave her a bunch of fun homework. she wanted to take a selfie with me on her mini camera, but ended up cutting off half my forehead and half her face. i’m glad she had fun day at office, and as much as i didn’t want to come to work when nobody else was working, she made my day by go a lot faster

say 2329 – potluck dish

my appetizer dish for the annual hospitality designs christmas potluck is smoked salmon on rice crackers. there’s a whole assortment of food including sushi, fried rice, noodles, fried chicken, samosas, pizza, salad, meatballs, chili and cakes to name a few. i tried to have a variety, but some things just weren’t for me. the food was okay, but the extended lunch break was good to calm down some of the work stress

day 1973 – annual turkey feast

another year has gone by and it’s time for another tong’s family turkey feast on christmas day. this year features the main event juicy turkey stuffed with fried rice, with baked pork loin, cod and cilantro, baked potato crisps, grilled asparagus and choice of wine pairing. so many dishes on the table we almost ran out of real estate. i didn’t get to taste every dish before i got way too full. everything tasted really good and of course the turkey was my favourite of all. i think it’s safe to say i need to go on a cut after the holiday celebrations

day 1971 – fried chicken

it’s crazy to say that it’s my first time eating fried chicken since highschool. i normally refrain from fried foods; i made an exception today not only because it is the holiday week, but also because i’ve never tasted the korean fried chicken everyone boasts about. it tasted delicious as expected, and the crunchiness between my teeth was also to a high level of satisfaction. i don’t know when i’ll have it again, so i’ll savour every lasting flavour of the fried chicken dipped into the zesty sweet and sour sauce
