day 1298 – diy

each person had to design a board based on the value they’ve chosen. teamwork is mine and it is definitely one i can relate to based on all the things i do. what looked like a simple carving task didn’t turn out to be one. it takes a lot more to be a good carver but i’m content with how it turned out. two hours of drilling is hard on my hands and ears. it took a hot shower to regain some senses in my arm

day 983 – spectating

image

i have watched a whack load of hockey through the decade, but never co-ed style. watching amateur hockey is very fascinating. the pace of it is nothing like what i am used to seeing, but it was entertaining in so many ways for it’s not just any other hockey game. the pace drops significantly when there’s a shift change. i laugh at the noobs, but it also makes me appreciate hockey more knowing the actual game is harder than it looks. kind of makes me want to give it a shot at some point when my schedule frees up and i can afford to take some risks.

day 831 – mid season bonder

mid season social featured rowing and sculling practice at the richmond olympic oval. the lesson of the day is rowing is not hard, rowing is very hard. thankfully we were only doing rowing simulation in the rowing tank or else we would have flipped the boat on our second stroke. this is a great choice of activity for team building exercise because it requires so much teamwork and communication. a very fun exec bonder where i exerted a lot of energy

day 675 – messy me

image

all i wanted to do was have my┬árecovery drink but turns out i spent a lot more time cleaning up the mess i made than the time required to finish drinking. what made matters worse was i didn’t just fail once, but twice. the first scoop, powder flung out all over my table. then second scoop, i dropped the scoop and scattered on my lap, chair and floor. turns out to be too much work

day 645 – packing troubles

image

this is the status of my packing situation in hour into my attempt. things are always harder to find when i need it most and then reappear in my face when i don’t. what’s frightening is this pile is not the only things i will be packing for this trip. as if finding everything i needed wasn’t hard enough, fitting everything into my duffel will be an even tougher task. the whole packing process took over three hours and in the end i gave in to using a suitcase because i failed to fit everything into my duffel
