day 1963 – gr8 party

rushed out of work to attend my second company christmas party at harrison. one of the few occasions i will dress up plus wear heels and accessories. same as last year, there it was buffet style with open bar, dance floor, speeches, photo booth and door prizes. i wad happy with my door prize and a gift card from the trivia. what i least expected was an award for receiving the most teamwork star performers of 2018. all i was worried about was tripping as i go up on stage to retrieve it. went back up to my hotel room and laid on my bed expecting to be called to the party room

day 1946 – second year

two years ago to the day, i stepped into this office with a loosely defined position under a manager that hadn’t got a clue. insert a different manager and fast forward two years later, i’ve learned a lot under his guidance, and grown to become a better leader. i couldn’t be happier of where my manager has guided me. he who believed i could handle a team behind me and described me to have a cool temperament. looking back this year, i’ve accomplished a whole lot without even noticing. moving into third year, i’ll have to continually think about what i want to be and where i ultimately want to go

day 1918 – venom pumpkin

my team’s jack-o-lantern submission, the venom, came second in pumpkin carving contest. dressing up to work today is obligatory because this office takes halloween very seriously. i didn’t put a lot of thought into planning my costume but pulled out a last minute burglar outfit. a whole afternoon of halloween extravaganza with food, contests, games and pumpkins. it was actually quite tiring and maybe more tiring than actually working

day 1861 – bootcamp survivors

the group of survivors from the outdoor summer bootcamp repping our t-shirts. back at the beginning, attendance from the office was in the thirties; as the summer went on, it slowly trickled down to ten. even though i missed most of the last month’s sessions due to my injuries, i made an effort to be present for the last one. my shoulder still gives restricts me in all my activities. my circuits had to be modified and it so happens everything i could do into a leg day

day 1801 – carnival time

work was pretty much a write off since many of us chipped in to help setup the annual summer party. this year’s theme is carnival and thankfully there were no clowns present. the games can get intense with a bunch of adults reliving their long lost childhood in a games of human foosball, bungee run and of course tug-of-war. i’m pretty dangerous at human foosball; there were several instances of close calls where i almost kicked someone in the head. fun bbq in scorching hot weather just like last year, i’m sure i went home a shade darker

day 1770 – bootcamp

the office bootcamp is underway and the first session the pace was too slow. i guess the trainer wanted to see where the general fitness was at since we have quite a mixed bag. everything was pretty standard body weight exercise; too much jumping jacks for one day. although it was slow, i did break a sweat simply because it was quite warm being under the sun. i wanted to go to gym afterwards but thought about it twice since i had penta in the evening. i hope the pace and intensity of these bootcamp picks up in the next eleven weeks. hopefully this kickstarts and stabilizes my own fitness routine again

day 1769 – may birthday cake

big save on cake at showtime for all the may babies in the office. last year may babies got ripped off on our faceless cake. this year, we sure got an extra large cake with our caricatures on it. it seems absurd to be recelebrating a birthday that happened a month after the actual date. after stuffing my face, literally, i went for my second tricky class and got more practice flips in. i hope to attend as often as i can cause i want it back soon
