day 446 – heading home

image

wrapping up my washington roadtrip with overall team success. can’t get home without paying the peace arch a little visit and of course getting through the long border wait. look forward heading farther down for the next one plus the rest on the list we are eyeing and it may be sooner than i know it. a lot of work and practice to be done if we are aiming for those bigger opens, don’t let it stop

day 444 – podium finish

image

claiming two golds and one silver from washington state cup. riding on the highs of adrenaline is the only reason i am still standing. being majorly sleep deprived after little sleep the week leading up to trip and only catching a three hour snooze the night prior to competition. proud to say it was a success and the team bc was well represented. first time going to this competition and we gained respect and turned some heads from other competitors, coaches and masters. this may be a start of something that leads to bigger things. the bonus is its my first competition after the summer of knee horrors, and everything seems to be feeling fine so i hope to put that in behind me and look forward to the good days

day 412 – stress relief

image

i really missed this place. felt really good being back to gym after such a long layoff. it’s a calming place for me where i can find tranquility and gives me all the sources of outlet to my numerous¬†stresses in life. makes me appreciate this seemingly simple freedom to be do my activities¬†but in reality extremely difficult to get permission and functionality to do them

day 362 – picking up where i left off

image

i have not set foot near the squat rack ever since my knee exploded. for the first time in nine weeks, i had the courage to step up to it again, but this time not having an expectations. to my astonishment, i was able to lift the same weight i had just prior to the injury. even though it’s not much and there’s so much to improve upon, it meant the world to me. it made my day and i can say i am truly satisfied. now i will work even harder to build up that weight

day 354 – rain at wwtd

image

mother nature obviously shows no love for walk with the dragon. was hit by a big heat wave last year and massive down pour the year before. so glad one of our major annual demo event is finally over and things slow down a little before competition season picks up again. my own part of the performance was far from good in my standards, could have and should have been much better. it’s been a long and steep recovery road the past eight weeks and a grind cramming in practices prematurely. this was the ultimate test for my knee but very content it passed the test and is finally rounding into form. i can’t complain

day 336 – post competition

image

top pick for competition action picture is our team taebaek during the opening ceremony demo. pretty good and synchronized considering we winged it without much practice, that’s when you know we are a team. still ways to go to match my once best kick but pleased for someone who’s been struggling to walk in recent weeks and literally kicking for the first time in over a month. glad to know i still got it in me

day 324 – good to be back

image

it’s been a long time coming but i am so glad to be back in class after missing action for four weeks. even though i have to take it easy and slowly ease myself back into doing only what my knee will allow, it still means the world to me. not having my sports and activities is a huge chunk of my life that i simply cannot go without. it’s that horrible feeling when the passions of your life is being put on hold
