day 2047 – bc open champiosnhip

bringing a big killarney team to compete at bc open this year. my students made me proud today bringing home six golds, four silvers and two bronze. i try my best to stay out of all the unnecessary drama, but somehow they either drag me in or bring the drama to me. the best way to make a statement is to let my students do the talking. the goal is to continur to grow the competition team. there’s a few rising stars in the bunch so i hopefully i can cultivate them into future national competitors

day 1997 – planet ice delta

playing forward at delta for the first time this season and it paid off. i finally scored my first goal this season and it was quite the beauty. swooped into the offensive zone and one-timed a big rebound off the end boards. it was a big win for the team that put us at the top of our division; definitely worth celebrating upstairs at boomers bar and grill. i did what i had to do so i’m content going back on defense for the remainder of the season

day 1983 – fools on ice

the zamboni usually swoops in immediately and leaves no time for players to get off the ice after the game. being a late game, and the last game of the night, there wasn’t anyone ushering us out. the girls took our sweet time getting off the ice; decided to stay on ice and take an bunch of photos and videos. we had the whole sheet of ice to ourselvees so naturally we wanted to capture all the weird things we wouldn’t normally get to do. we had so much fun fooling around post game that we almost forgot we the boys were waiting for us

day 1968 – fishy game

i have missed quite a few games this season due to vacation and illness, but here i am playing in the final fishsticks game of 2018. this is one big team full of dirty players and yappers who pounced on our short bench with three quick goals. despite being the underdog, we slowly chipped away and eventually ended the game with a tie. i tallied our first goal and it could have been easily a hat trick. i was robbed on two point blank opportunities. i was gased by the end because of our short bench, but it definitely felt good contributing on the score sheet once again

day 1816 – short bench

i got home from two games of hockey and collapsed on the floor. first of the two was as epic as it will ever get: an ultra short bench with six players and a goalie. one sub through forty five minutes of play and my legs were so done after jabba i didn’t think i had it in me to play a second game. luckily my mental state overpowered my physical and forced my legs to keep skating until the end of civil war. i ended up playing a pretty solid game and scoring another goal. now leading all rookies in both goals , points and shots on goal. after all the physical output, i deserve all the rest i can get tomorrow

day 1802 – drink the pink

img_20200130_2227041275765326796894756.jpgits an activities overload kind of day and there wasn’t much of a meal at all. lunch was banana pancakes, pregame was banana pancakes, between games was snack wrap and post game was e-noodle and ice cream. my legs gave were long dead my jdp game was over but still must play my heart out for civil war. i ended up scoring the prettiest goal of my life – stole the puck off a forecheck and deked out the goalie to roof it. too bad there was no go pro present to record the epic goal. there’s still so much i need to clean up in my game, but i’m happy i played my heart out today and make a statement. it’s extra sweet for all the criticism i took last week

day 1762 – potted one

the scheduling is not spaced evenly so playing second jabba game in three days. i wasn’t sure how i’d play tonight since my limbs were feeling shaky as i was driving to the rink. to my surprise, i netted my first goal going upstairs from a nice feed. it was a physical game for me and i got belted a handful of times, though i got up and stayed in the play. i also got my share in the first period as i collided with someone and i was the one left standing. my game is coming along but i still need to learn to be more ready to accept passes at any point

day 1746 – ripped off

being a saturday, i hadn’t had much to eat all day – a peanut butter toast and almond milk. hence i was really looking forward to some good food at the exec season ender. that was not the case. when our 7:30pm reservation time came around, only eleven people were on time. as a result, everything was delayed and we didn’t get our first dish until quarter past eight. by then i had to stop eating because i had hockey to play. i stayed as long as i could, i mingled and chatted, but that doesn’t change i only had one gyoza down my stomach. needless to say, i left for hockey hungry and feeling ripped off. i played and scored, and left the rink for food so my stomach can stop eating itself

day 1657 – padding the statsĀ

img_20200203_1445544866682448498296553.jpgthird last game of the season for fishsticks so filling the scoresheet is what i needed. i did exactly that tonight, taking the lead in my bet with a one goal two assist night. i was tired heading into the game having worked from nine to eight with a two hour gap in between teaching shift and promotion test, but not so tired after such good production. i’m sure i’ll feel the fatigue even more tomorrow trying to wake up for my 7:30am shift after a late game. i’m just happy that i feel like i’m rounding into form again as playoffs are ramping up.

day 1493 – conquered war

game three of civil war playoffs settled everything tonight and my jade rabbits prevailed. my team took home the cup and i scored a beauty driving to the net to roof is short side. a goal that i am proud of because i did everything right with no hesitation. i played one of my better games but not the best because i had a glorious one timer that was robbed and missed on a tap in. my legs were feeling so sore and giving in; i find myself one step slower than my norm. i certainly enjoyed a fun summer drop in season where i started on the so called noob line, but realistically i can hang in and confidently play with the second liners. i’m excited and ready to rock for the upcoming winter season
