day 1982 – galaxy tab

newest addition to my tech toys is a london fog samsung tablet. i ordered it during boxing day and finally received the package because there’s so much hassle and delays with canada post. there’s a lot of settings i still haven’t figured out since it’s the first samsung product i own. with all the tech things i own, i got to manage my screen time properly and not overdo it. now i can take this with me traveling instead of my fifty pound bullet proof laptop

day 1953 – spigen case

thank goodness for amazon prime or else i’d still be fearing for my pixel’s life. even though i previously placed orders for two other cases and tempered glasses, they likely wouldn’t arrive before the end of this year. there’s no way i can resist the urge to whip out my pixel until then. without the phone case, i had cut an eco mat to act as a phone bed to prevent any scratches. i’m treating my phone with extra special care that i don’t even want direct contact with any hard surfaces

day 1947 – team pixel

my black friday shopping arrived at my work today. first time in my life i’m using a phone not made by sony. it was a big decision to part ways, but not a hard choice. the pixel 3 stood out from the rest, though the cost also stood out amongst it’s competitors. i told myself i wouldn’t use it before my case and tempered glass arrives. i did well not to unbox it and fidget with it during work

day 1506 – office robot

essentially the newest technology is for vice president to creep on and micromanage us while not physically in the office. everyone was making jokes as it was being test, but i’m sure everyone feels their privacy will be invaded once it’s roaming around the office. instead of dropping a couple grand on this creepy robot, it would be money well spent if it went towards office renovation

day 774 – no service

image

lack of mobile service from all of yesterday has got me really frustrated. must have been a glitch with the new system updates. so instead of going to my saturday session, spent all of this morning backing up my phone, doing a factory reset and then setting up all my applications and preferences all over again. this had better fix the problem or else i’d be even more frustrated. living proof that i cannot live without my phone or other gadgets the twenty first century has to offer

day 686 – phone in

there were some unexpected delays with sony’s new flagship phone release but it finally happened. my new sony xperia phone just came in today along with a handful of rogers swag. really itching to open it and use a new phone immediately, but waiting on a few things before i make my decision as to which phone it will be. i already know those golf balls will come in handy for trigger point release

resolution series: [seventeen] communicate

the advancement in the technological world has brought us wonders, many of which we never thought possible a decade ago. technology is great when it comes to connectivity and communication. getting up to date has never been easier and getting news out through the ever growing number of social media platforms has never been so convenient. but sometimes it just doesn’t get the message across the right way. its because of all these devices that we get a little too caught up in our own world and forget the big picture of direct contact and interaction. i must admit i am a culprit myself, always staring down at my phone swiping away and checking my newsfeed for updates on things that could probably be put on hold. there are times when it shouldn’t become top priority because there’s someone nearby that may benefit from a little conversation. while it doesn’t mean that we must hide our phones away at dinner tables, it’s a good idea not to be staring at it every waking second. good communication is the key to success; often, the good old fashioned face to face interaction is the most trustworthy one that always gets the message across the proper way. never underestimate the power of eye contact, facial expression and body language. i love my technology for what it brings me and i wouldn’t give it up, but i will always use it with care so technology doesn’t become the downfall of my communication skill
