day 2420 – park time

thankful for the kinds of connections i’ve developed during my time at hospitality designs. in times like this, i know i could lean on some and make it through okay. we’ve developed a bond that made me realize we’re each other’s reasons to go to work for. we talk about our goals, plans, and struggles, and keep each other accountable while striving for those milestones. work would never have been the same without these special bonds. i hope this continues and we’ll continue to be there through thick and thin

day 2354 – moody catch up

made the trip out to port moody despite the snowy conditions to meet up with a long time highschool friend. we had so much to catch up on; we started at a korean restaurant and migrated to a nearby cafe. she’s one of the few i keep very much contact with despite both of us living halfway across the globe. i cherish the friendship we’ve maintained throughout the years. it’s very ironic we both share some similar views and standpoint; no wonder we managed to chat for hours

day 2106 – overdue chat

we met up for some sushi, but the main point was to have an overdue chat while we took a stroll. it’s been on both of our minds for far too long, but timing kind of played it’s game. i was just relieved to clear the air and any awkwardness it brings. a lot of the problem is miscommunication and timing. at the end of the day, we made sure that nothing really changes. in fact, it might actually help us solve some of the things that came over us during this stretch

day 2089 – sechelt wrap

easter long weekend came to an end and so did the squirtle squad sechelt retreat. the past three days have been unforgettable in so many ways. i had a lot of fun just hanging out with this group. we didn’t do anything out of the ordinary but no shortage of action – just the basics like hotpot, barbecue, drinking, board games, and sun tan to name a few. also played around with some photoshoots, held some deeper conversations and some impromptu stints of wrestling. the bond we’ve created this weekend is beyond just being teammates

day 1935 – bubble tea alley

img_20200128_2306538291888574002645004.jpggot to appreciate a good lunch date with hamberite that started with fancy poke bowls and finished off with bubble tea. the alley was coined as one of the best black sugar pearl in the city. i wasn’t going to have too many on this trip, but i wasn’t going to let this one slip away. i haven’t had bubble tea in a while but man was this one good. we walked around mongkok and shamshuipo for the rest of the afternoon. i’m always good to know that last connections like this still exist

day 1838 – funeral flowers

heavy hearted moment learning that one of my long time friend just lost her mother. i paid her family a visit and made sure she knows she’s supported. this must be a difficult moment for her and her family, but i’m really glad to see that she’s holding up well. we hung around after the prayers and chatted about how things will change and even how much she looks forward to our mini upcoming trip

day 1830 – pairing up

changing up the advance class with less instruction and more freedom. the theme of this week’s class is creative poomsae. this is a chance to not only open their mind to creative poomsae, but also build on their friendship and camaraderie. some of it wasn’t glamorous, but they sure pulled out some wacky unheard of moves. based on what i saw today, no one is near ready to compete in creative poomsae, but at the end of the day we all had a good laugh watching each group perform

day 1206 – dogphobia

img_20200204_2142114719747927692449238.jpgfor all the years, i refused to be in the same house as any four legged animal. i made an exception for one of my closest buddy tonight because it was for her housewarming party. i think it sensed the fear because it was always hovering around me in proximity and came into contact far too many times; too close for comfort. despite that, it was a great night chilling with lifelong friends forever known as underconstruction crew

day 1044 – reunion tour

image

bringing back the full underconstruction crew where all of us are in the same timezone. nothing like an evening spent digging up past memories, laughing at our glorious days and relinquishing our dominance as a team. it’s amazing we rarely realize how far back we go and how long our friendship has lasted. we’re a rowdy bunch when the four are put together; reminiscence of the good old days. never underestimate the value of true friendship; we will always have each other’s back no matter which continent we are on

day 880 – underconstruction crew

image

a lunch date and christmas exchange with the underconstruction crew. i haven’t received my present from my secret santa yet, but i’ll take into consideration it must travel across seven seas. it’s amazing the friendship of this crew reached twelve years and counting. this girl and i shared incredibly crazy memories in our years at hamber. we had classes together, shared lockers, spent mornings, lunchtimes, afterschools, practices, post practices and weekends together. upon doing the math, it equates to over ninety hoursĀ on a weekly basis. we’d devote lots of those hours harassing and beating each other up to our heart’s content. even though we don’t see each other as often nowadays, she remains one of my dearest friend
