day 2531 – hunter life

i’ve never been a gamer all my life, but playing games has been quite a stress relieving past time since covid times. i bought a few more games during the steam summer sale so i could play and chill with my friends. we’ve been exploring a lot of the hunting game and we’re mesmerized by how beautiful the graphics are. learning the true life of a hunter and realizing it’s a really hard job. i definitely lack the gaming experience so my gun needs a lot of work

day 2530 – regular squats

steady progress of my injured knee continues in my garage. i’m excited to be off the box squats and onto regular squats. taking the advice and making adjustments to my stance the past few sessions to make it more sustainable to taking on heavier weights in the long run. the knee itself felt pretty good, but the groin was a different issue. good enough to do four sets with a plate on the bar. had a special guest join us for today’s session; i must say he was quite the entertainment. he did however make it difficult, so some of the workout got cut short

day 2513 – national sushi day

the letdown was real when i had to skip my apex session and tricking class because my knee is in terribly rough shape. the only salvaging factor was my friends coming over for a garage lifting session. wasn’t expecting to do a whole lot without my legs under me, but turns out i untapped new territory benching ninety pounds for five reps without relying on my spot. the sushi for lunch afterwards made me feel a little better even though nothing will really make up for what i have to sacrifice

day 2508 – picnic dinner

last minute changes to co-worker’s birthday because dine in wasn’t really available. fortunately, the weather changed for the better so we could order takeout and have a picnic dinner. seeing my coworkers after months of separation is pretty heart warming. we had an enjoyable time catching up with lots of laughs. was planning to just chill, but ended up tossing a frisbee around, hid from big dogs and did a flip. i miss seeing their faces at the office and chatting on teams to get through the work day together

day 2503 – last of paris

a year ago was the last day touring around paris on our memorable europe trip. i could say i miss travelling and other activities, but i also don’t really miss the hectic ‘normal go go go’ life back then. covid has really changed a lot of what the norm is now – my life turned completely one eighty. it took a while to adjust to the pace, but i made the adjustment and don’t mind keeping it around longer. this could really steer my life in a different direction full of possibilities

day 2499 – pixel nation

morning lift is how i normally start each day since covid. it’s pixel nation with generations two, three and four lined up in my garage gym. today is considered my push pull day with my two main lifts being bench and row. working on my weakest of the four big lifts, the bench press, and it’s good i have a spotter. i need to learn to keep pushing and not change my form even when the weight feels heavy

day 2478 – carcassonne

finishing the week off strong with two good back to back lifting sessions today. unlike last friday’s apex session where i missed more than half my lifts, i had all makes today using the green plates. got home and did a second lift with my flightclub fam. hitting the four big lifts and then some accessories. i was able to attempt sprints on the last two laps which feels like a win for me and my healing knee. chilled on my computer with friends for the rest of the afternoon learning how to play a new board game

day 2472 – minion celly

my little hospitality design minion invited me over to her place for my belated birthday celebration. we had our long overdue catch up chat while enjoying our steak salad and roasted veggies. after our delicious dinner, we went out for an evening stroll while the sun set behind us. the perks of living in olympic village is the seawall is literally her backyard. i’m very thankful i was out today to take my mind off things that’s causing my stress level to rise

day 2467 – aging well

i’ll be the first to admit i didn’t sleep well not knowing how this quarantine birthday would turn out. going into the day, i had no plans besides a home cooked dinner and cake with family. waking up, i thought i’d do a solo lift, have a couple of lonely hours waiting for dinner time to arrive. fortunately, it got better as the day unfolded and turned out to be quite eventful. i met up with some friends who got me onezo bubble tea, then had a hangout to take some shenanigan photos, and finished off with a zoom short party after a decadent dinner. i’ll be the honest i wasn’t looking forward to this because growing older is hard to accept, especially when i feel like i’ve underachieved all my life. i mulled about it for some time, but maturity came around and said that age is just a number; my heart and body still feels young

day 2462 – zoom jackbox

girls doing a wednesday virtual game night playing jackbox party packs. we had to setup three consecutive zoom sessions because of the forty minute limit. hopefully we can use a different hosting platform next time so we don’t have to switch in and out in between games. gaming has taken over a lot of my free time, and it’ll likely continue through the duration of this covid quarantine
