day 2070 – tsujiri extravaganza

i said i’d treat myself to tsujiri once i land my roundoff backtuck which i did. it’s finally my turn to try out the hyped tsujiri matcha dessert. the rumoured lineup is real and if you don’t go in the middle of the day for the opening rush, there’s no chance of getting their cakes. can’t believe there’s so much hype for this place even after a month of its grand opening. the foodies i went with got multiple cakes and drinks, but i settled with a double fromage matcha cake

day 1987 – hotpotting

had a bunch of friends crash my house for hotpot because they heard i have the whole house all to myself this week. i don’t normally get a chance to host any parties simply cause i don’t have my own place. it’s my first hotpot of the cold wintery days. i’m so full from stuffing down all the food including beef, pork, assorted meat balls, fish tofu, mushrooms, daikon, and veggies. there’s a lot of cleaning up to do after stuffing our faces but fortunately there was a dishwasher within the group

day 1959 – swiss roll

it’s a bad idea when you hang out with food friends and all they want is try new dessert places. they also want to split the foods with you and inadvertently split the calories that comes with. this is a piece of the oolong tea swiss roll with a load of ganache in the centre. it was very tasty as expected. i wonder how my mildly lactose body will respond after devouring that

day 1842 – infinity war

weeknight girls night eating sushi, pulled chicken salad, cinnamon wheel and apple pie while watching infinity war. the movie was super confusing to us; we tried to find explanation videos after an inconclusive ending. we chatted late into the night and will probably pay for it tomorrow morning. i’m quite behind in the movies department, but slowly catching up on what’s made available on netflix and chrome cast

day 1806 – westcoast poke

it’s been months of hearing everyone rave about these poke bowls and now i jump on the freight train. went out to ironwood during lunch time to give westcoast a try. i built a bowl with a mixture of atlantic salmon and albacore tuna with spicy yuzu siracha and wasabi aioli. the siracha sauce had an interesting taste, the good kind of interesting. every time i drive by the westcoast poke, the little shop is packed with lineup out the door. these bowls are really good and refreshing, but they charge way more than how much it cost to make these. i’d get these more often if it was only less expensive

day 1745 – mom appreciationĀ

the fact my family is going on vacation starting tomorrow means an early mothers day celebration. i don’t show enough, but i truly appreciate my supermom that never fails to take care of me. we rarely go out for vietnamese food cause my parents don’t like the seating, but had to try this place since it’s a highly touted authentic vietnamese restaurant. the lineup outside is always so long, somehow we got a table within fifteen minutes of waiting. this prices wasn’t cheap for sure, but the food was really good, especially the lemon grass chicken. when i said may is a busy month, i do mean it

day 1736 – appas and dongsaeng

and so the birthday celebration begins. taken out to lunch by colleague for shared birthday meal with an appa. the two appas and two dongsaengs gotten close because we’re late eating buddies. the four of us going all the way out to mr black for long lunch; i’ll probably end up working through tomorrow’s lunch. their menu features much fried katsu of all meats, but going out of my norm is acceptable once in a while. the decor was nice and food was decent, but kind of pricey if everything was regular priced. it was quite evident that traffic wasn’t very high at all
