day 2176 – uneaten lunches

uneaten lunches piling up because this week has been a little busy. my monday lunch is still uneaten in the office fridge because of onboarding lunch, first aid lunch meetings. both lunch boxes had things i wanted to eat so i shared the lunches with coworker and skipped the overlaps. if i start getting a stomachache in the afternoon, the old leftover foods will be blamed

day 2161 – smoked salmon pinwheel

the best thing about coming home late is still having homemade food by my mom. these smoked salmon tortilla wrapped pinwheels tasted is unmatched because it’s made with so much care. no matter what time of the day, my mom will gladly prepare food for me and make sure i don’t starve. i played up a big appetite after returning home from my sports activities

day 1846 – uncle tetsu

i have no idea why my mom ended up at metrotown but it was a good coincidence. she brought home the highly sought after cheesecake along with honey madeleines from uncle tetsu. as soon as she sent me a message with a picture of the goods, i knew i was in for a treat when i get home from my hockey game. jabba da puck didn’t bring home the victory to force game three, but it was a good run for the cup. it was still a good spring season and being finalist isn’t too shabby

day 1806 – westcoast poke

it’s been months of hearing everyone rave about these poke bowls and now i jump on the freight train. went out to ironwood during lunch time to give westcoast a try. i built a bowl with a mixture of atlantic salmon and albacore tuna with spicy yuzu siracha and wasabi aioli. the siracha sauce had an interesting taste, the good kind of interesting. every time i drive by the westcoast poke, the little shop is packed with lineup out the door. these bowls are really good and refreshing, but they charge way more than how much it cost to make these. i’d get these more often if it was only less expensive

day 1439 – japanese boat

it takes a lot to make me skip my sunday workout but skipping it is probably the best i can do for my aching skeleton. i almost lost it with one of the parents at promotion test this afternoon. majority of the parents i deal with are reasonable, but there will always be those odd ones that cause a lot of ruckus. she talked nonstop and refused to listen to any explanation; luckily simo stepped in before my patience ran out. i needed this boat to replenish all that i had lost talking to her

day 1429 – cherry imports

i’m happy but not surprised when i saw giant boxes in my kitchen. this is the time of the year when my dad orders ten pounds of cherries from coworker who owns a farm in okanagan. normally i would eat cherries as meal replacements, but it as big and sweet as other years since the peak season is delayed this year. it will get finished nonetheless and then he’ll order another batch

day 1261 – meal prep

image
my parents are back this evening meaning final day of meal prepping. i’m proud of myself because i’m tired as ever but already in at work at 7:30am even after getting off school at 10:30pm yesterday night. also, i have mostly been able to feed myself during the time my parents were away. my self-made lunch boxes are looking better and better each time my parents go on vacation. but one thing i need to do much better on is getting enough sleep
