day 1529 – japanese boat

it takes a lot to make me skip my sunday workout but skipping it is probably the best i can do for my aching skeleton. i almost lost it with one of the parents at promotion test this afternoon. majority of the parents i deal with are reasonable, but there will always be those odd ones that cause a lot of ruckus. she talked nonstop and refused to listen to any explanation; luckily simo stepped in before my patience ran out. i needed this boat to replenish all that i had lost talking to her

day 1519 – cherry imports

i’m happy but not surprised when i saw giant boxes in my kitchen. this is the time of the year when my dad orders ten pounds of cherries from coworker who owns a farm in okanagan. normally i would eat cherries as meal replacements, but it as big and sweet as other years since the peak season is delayed this year. it will get finished nonetheless and then he’ll order another batch

day 1261 – meal prep

my parents are back this evening meaning final day of meal prepping. i’m proud of myself because i’m tired as ever but already in at work at 7:30am even after getting off school at 10:30pm yesterday night. also, i have mostly been able to feed myself during the time my parents were away. my self-made lunch boxes are looking better and better each time my parents go on vacation. but one thing i need to do much better on is getting enough sleep

day 1253 – hearty meal

all my favourite dishes were on the dinner table because i’m finally home for dinner on last day before parents leave for mexico. it’s her way of saying it’s good to have me home for dinner for once. it was a great homecooked meal; i enjoyed every dish and stuffed myself too much. i have yet to get back on track with eating the way i would like to and that needs to be done starting tomorrow. now that she’s going on vacation, i might as well not cook to solve that problem

stepping foot in tong’s kitchen to prepare for tomorrow’s party. this is not a familiar territory for me since i only cook the primary things to fuel my body, but i might turn out to be an iron chef after this holiday season. the requirement for this recipe is we must create our dish from scratch; darn i can’t have my fruit platter. although i haven’t taste tested until party time, my deviled eggs look really yummy

day 1106 – hungriness

for some odd reason i was hungrier than usual. even after a snack, my stomach was still hungry so i ate some tofu while waiting for my mom to cook dinner. dinner was finally ready and i am happy it had some of my favourite food like baked salmon and fresh corn on a cob. having an appetite again is a good sign; maybe it’s a sign that my lingering cold is really over; or maybe it’s a sign i am healthy again

day 1008 – birthday girl

it’s my birthday today and there was no shortage of notifications. thankful to have so many people in my life who blew up my phone with messages, posts and all sorts of notifications. my parents taking me out to a dinner on my special day. heard many good things about fable kitchen and naturally wanted to try it for myself. it’s a relatively small restaurant and their portions are also very small. one of the rare times i was able to finish my own order, which means a normal person wouldn’t feel satiated. it all works in my favour because that leaves enough room for my birthday cake
