day 2160 – hawaii tradeshow

back to work the day after a long weekend didn’t have me jumping out of bed for joy. i almost overslept because i had forgotten to turn on the recurring the alarm clock. good thing my fitbit alarm woke me up quarter past six. the day could have been even worse; at least i’m doing something fun like rendering for the hawaii tradeshow. no olympic lifting today like my regular tuesday because i had gone yesterday

day 2029 – sick day

instead of going into work, i stayed at home all day because i woke up with a headache, sore throat and the feeling that i’m fending off an oncoming cold. after calling in sick at 7am, i managed to sleep until past 1pm. sleeping fourteen hours is a really, really rare occasion since i usually get six or less. i logged a total of less than two thousand steps so my fitbit probably thought i was dying

day 1938 – taikwun

a full day of fun hanging out with friends. i can’t say enough about how much i appreciate them taking time out to chill during my visit. it’s too bad we didn’t get to go up to the peak, but there was so much more we could explore and eat. we toured around the former hong kong prison and police station, walked around central area, then all the way to causeway bay. the eating tour continues which started with famous egg tarts and finished off with some curry beef omlette. another twenty five thousand steps logged which is good cause i have lots of calories waiting to be burned

day 1404 – priority list

fitbit shows me i need to put myself higher on the priority list and sleep a little more. sadly the amount i worked this week doubled the amount of sleep i got. i never really got a break and the start of another work week is in just a few hours away. i’m not looking forward to next week working all seven days. i am not always guaranteed a weekend, but at least this week i still have sunday off as a small breather

day 1214 – wearables

playing with my newest gadget and the newly setup charge 2. my mom benefits from my investment because she inherited my old charge hr. teaching was very tiring and a killer for my throat today because i had be extra stern and strict. i find a lot of the students are getting a little laxed when it comes to discipline and self practice so i had to send a message and reestablish my expectations; i had to take more control and not let them get too comfortable in that state. good thing i only had to teach sergeant-like for three classes or i wouldn’t be able to talk at playoffs tomorrow

day 1213 – chasing two plates

image

dragged my butt out of bed early this morning to door crash for my new fitbit. four days removed from the gym, and it’s driving me crazy. i haven’t moved enough since and needed to get my workout in no matter dizzy or groggy. getting through my usual sets of exercises were tough but expected, a few times i did feel my head was spinning. my power cleans felt out of sync but that didn’t come to surprise me because i felt weakened. knowing so, i stepped down on some poundage on most exercises, all except for my deads. i’m shocked of the progress of my deads as i’m one step closer to making the two plate club

solo series [day twelve]

image

woke up without a plan but turns out to be fairly eventful. with a transit day pass, we had the luxury of taking multiple lines at any point throughout the day. from there on, we covered a few more attractions including osaka castle, science centre, aquarium, and largest ferris wheel in asia. we inadvertently passed by a judo dojo and caught some kids in action. i wasn’t too keen on hitting up any more department stores, but my mother wasn’t finished shopping. i am done shopping, done walking and done spending

i can’t seem to buy sleep on this trip; my body clock wakes me up at 4am each day. that’s not usual because i can typically fall asleep anywhere. i guess i’ll make it up on the plane or when i get back

tomorrow i will be in transit again, this time a nine and a half hour direct flight back to vancouver. shortly after arriving in yvr airport, mo and i will be reunited. the countdown has now changed to hours instead of days. we couldn’t be happier that the countdown is in its final hours

this wraps up my entire asia summer trip with family. it’s been fun and adventurous, but at the same time draining in far too many ways. my ankles and knees have taken a beating from averaging 20000 steps a day. my body tells me it’s about time to head back to vancity because that’s where my heart is. it hasn’t exactly been a restful vacation, but i needed some time away from my regular routine. i am definitely ready to go home to make some important life decisions, get back on my grind and of course spend lots of time with mo
