day 1644 – bayside dineout

i was quite reluctant to join in on the dineout vancouver festival, but mom insisted on taking visiting relatives out to a special dinner. aside from the lone boring topic that bored me to death, the dineout menu was actually quite good. i especially liked my appetizer of ahi tuna with mango and avocado. it’s apparent i can never get tired of eating salmon. the striploin steak wasn’t bad but i couldn’t finish as usual but got help as usual. the eating as gone awry over the last few weeks and it has to stop immediately. i told myself after this meal, i’ll gear down and be much more disciplined with my eating

day 1376 – our birthdays

this sunday was all about gstring playoffs, taekwondo and birthday dinner. a really bad fall gave me a scare because a rib out caused breathing and talking troubles. my chiropractor did not want me to continue playing, but being me and being playoffs, that wasn’t going to happen. thinking back, i made a reckless decision but it was something i would have risked for my team. it would have been nice to take both spirit owl and tier champ but kudos for making it to finals. our birthday celebration finally happened because i’ve had a crazy busy all of last week. fine dining at the apron with korean spicy wings, salmon with quinoa and seafood linguine

day 1327 – belated celly

our significant day was delayed but not forgotten; finally getting around to celebrating with some finer dining. it’s a stepping stone for both of us and a much deserved night out. we’ve shared a lot and made the most of everything. of course we’ve had our ups and downs and sometimes i can’t help but feel distant, but i’ll still try to take the good with the bad. in every relationship there’ll be a mix of surprises and disappointments, i chose so to dissipate it and not let it affect me too long and turn the page from the recent built up frustration

day 1007 – duo birthday

image

celebrating our birthdays together with fine dining up at seasons in the park. the patio view looking at downtown coupled with the delicacy made it very enjoyable. then mo pulled a few strings and surprised me with a mousse birthday cake. i must admit he caught me off guard but made the evening that much more incredible. i must stay alert and can never be too comfortable because he’ll throw a curveball at me when i least expect it. the night would have been near perfect if it weren’t for the brief drizzle; but we improvised with a plan b. it was a very special night and i couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate our birthdays

day 535 – dineout vancouver

image

to complete my dad’s birthday celebration, out with the family at cloud 9 revolving restaurant for dine out vancouver which means inevitably more good food. neat experience eating in a revolving restaurant where it is in motion from the start of your meal to the end. i went in expecting to feel the movement, but that was not the case. blurryness of the picture is due to the restaurant rotation, the light refraction from glass and the rain and fogged window

day 176 – stroll along the seawall

image

out in yaletown along the seawall after dinner to look at the city scape at night. the dineout menu for the refinery sounded decent but actual food served wasn’t all that impressive and didn’t live up to our expectations. i guess i had the company that made up for the lack of sparkle

day 38 – venture to west van

image

had some of the finest and most delicate authetnic sushi at zen sushi in west vancouver. every piece on the dish was crafted by a skillful japanese chef with attention to every little detail. safe to say i will be back for more, but can’t afford to come back too often or else it might break my bank
