day 2247 – kip up

i was forced to re-train aerials because my ankle was feeling wonky after a landing. big surprise came as my long lost aerial, that wasn’t even close to landing for weeks, felt super solid on blue mat today. the bonus of the session came at the end when thought i’d get a few reps of kip ups in to close the night. somehow it just started to click today; i fluked the first one and fluked another half a dozen. i’m reminded that sometimes reward comes simply from being stubborn and persistent about training and getting reps in. i’m hoping that’s the case for some of the other moves i’m chasing

say 2162 – spiderman costume

my spiderman suit took a while to get to me, but at least the long wait is finally over. at first glance, i didn’t think it would fit, but after trying it on, i think it’s made unisex. i’ll need to make several adjustments and upgrades before i can wear it out. rest assure it will be ready and look amazing come halloween. the whole flightclub crew is really going with the all out spiderman theme

day 2070 – tsujiri extravaganza

i said i’d treat myself to tsujiri once i land my roundoff backtuck which i did. it’s finally my turn to try out the hyped tsujiri matcha dessert. the rumoured lineup is real and if you don’t go in the middle of the day for the opening rush, there’s no chance of getting their cakes. can’t believe there’s so much hype for this place even after a month of its grand opening. the foodies i went with got multiple cakes and drinks, but i settled with a double fromage matcha cake

day 2062 – roundoff backtuck

precisely my reaction after landing my roundoff backtuck on flightclub floor. it most definitely lifted a lot of poundage off my shoulders. i was really close in february, but ended up jamming my ankle that started all my ankle woes. since then, my roundoff was never the same because my body would subconsciously protect it. that didn’t change the fact that i kept pushing it which really punished my ankles. i’m so happy that i finally landed my first. it was worth the wait because landing a solid one today is much better than a marginal one a month ago. stringing up a strong finish to march landing this and improving the consistency of my standing backtucks

day 1982 – galaxy tab

newest addition to my tech toys is a london fog samsung tablet. i ordered it during boxing day and finally received the package because there’s so much hassle and delays with canada post. there’s a lot of settings i still haven’t figured out since it’s the first samsung product i own. with all the tech things i own, i got to manage my screen time properly and not overdo it. now i can take this with me traveling instead of my fifty pound bullet proof laptop

day 1920 – back tuck

extremely pleased that i just accomplished what i came here for. i landed my first tuck on floor all by myself since five years ago. i had secretly set a goal for myself to do so before i take off for my vacation. as the classes went by, i was slowly pressing and concerned i would fail. i’m really, really thrilled to get my back tuck back, and it was a long but worthwhile journey. the one landed today wasn’t clean, but i’ll have many opportunities

day 1906 – front tuck landed

i’m calling this my first official front tuck landed on the floor even though i had one last week that i wasn’t satisfied with. i was hesitant to attempt again; they sensed it but were still adamant on it from the get go. the pressure was strong and everyone had their eyes on me as i warmed myself up on the mats. i was feeling really iffy on the first ones, but eventually stuck a landing. i’m thankful they believed i could and gave me all the support possible. sometimes i need to be pushed; i wouldn’t have done it otherwise if they weren’t forcing it on me
