day 1973 – annual turkey feast

another year has gone by and it’s time for another tong’s family turkey feast on christmas day. this year features the main event juicy turkey stuffed with fried rice, with baked pork loin, cod and cilantro, baked potato crisps, grilled asparagus and choice of wine pairing. so many dishes on the table we almost ran out of real estate. i didn’t get to taste every dish before i got way too full. everything tasted really good and of course the turkey was my favourite of all. i think it’s safe to say i need to go on a cut after the holiday celebrations

day 1833 – spot prawns

my parent’s week-long tour of greater vancouver continues with steveston fisherman’s wharf. dinner is served with loads of fresh seafood that my parents brought home from steveston market. my family rarely chooses to eat shellfish for health reasons. for some reason my parents planned out today to be a homecooked seafood fest. i couldn’t turn down the fresh sockeye salmon and delicious spot prawns

day 1608 – family feasting

annual christmas day family feast where my mom serves the most delicious turkey in the world. the meal is delicious as usual but the quality time spent together is more precious with each passing one. i’m forever thankful to be able to spend christmas day with my family each and every year and i don’t want that to change. in the end, they go the distance to give me the best they can in every possible way. in reality, they deserve better than what i can provide them. nothing is worth sacrificing my family in any way: i’ll try my hardest to keep that close to heart as a reminder. christmas, after all, is spending time with your loved ones that will always be there

day 1171 – twosome

weathering that rainstorm and numerous power outages across vancity with some wings, pizza and salad. staying dry indoors and feasting happily to honour another one if our special days. this one purposely drives me crazy at times. giving each other hard times is what we do, but above all he makes me happy knowing i can be me. he’s a butt, but a good butt

day 920 – stomach upheaval

how a chinese new year feast can throw me off my game. i am feeling sick after eating this meal since my regular practice is not accustomed to the grease. i do not wish to eat another one of these meals for a while, my stomach prefers my meal prepping more than ever. i guess that’s why i’m a picky eater and all i’m saying is i choose my food carefully

day 793 – nacho feast

not much in the taco world is healthy but going in with an intent to stay away from as much oily fried food as i can – but this happened. i hope my digestive system and body won’t overreact too much after this feast. it’s been way too long since i had nachos i almost forgot how it’s suppose to taste like. it was flavourful and tasted awesome in many ways, but i will stay try to keep my distance

day 516 – nearing the end

fifth and probably second last luxurious dine out feast of this christmas holidays, what a sigh of relief. first time here and now i have been introduced to another good sushi place in vancouver. both the food and service were good, similar to that of the eatery out in westside. it is highly likely i will come back for more sushi soon enough. still need to eat responsibly and watch what i put into my mouth
