day 2133 – versailles palace

this place is so beautiful no wonder it’s a hot topic for all tourists. it was a huge palace full of historical paintings, monumental ceiling murals, fancy decor surrounded by a vast garden. i read online to go early to avoid line up outside and it was right – this was the crowd first thing in the morning. it was a hot day and the train ride was a brutal forty minutes there and back with a jam packed cargo and no ventilation

day 2127 – afternoon tea

this would be my very first afternoon tea of my life and i must say it’s one expensive meal. i enjoyed the food, but it was a lot of pastry and sweets to take in for one sitting and i left feeling unusually bloated. the delicacy is way too much for my stomach and wallet to enjoy. the calories intake is defiitely something i can’t afford anymore often than once a year. i don’t know what constitutes a good afternoon tea, but i’m not one to look too deeply into it. starting to have traces of missing home

day 1886 – sophistication

i’ve joined the club of sophistication now that i’ve successfully bought some special matcha tea and become a member of david’s tea. becoming a matcha addict is quite the unique taste because matcha powder is so pricey and so hard to find. hopefully i can brew the perfect cup of matcha latte with proper frothing machine. if this goes well, i’ll be back for more

day 1709 – fancy shoes

got home from dodgeball and two boxes sat beside my staircase. i was so excited to see my shoe order came in the mail as a result of last week’s shopping spree. bought both pairs with a really good deal and they turned out to fit well. one is very comfortable and the other is rather avant-garde. i don’t regret spending the money on these at all; in fact, i should have bought a few more. as much i love shopping and my neverending wishlist, i have to monitor my savings too

day 1054 – fancy feast

#justimage

a rare fancy occurrence on the island for a belated celebration of our significant day. we chowed down on the many fresh seafood dockside had to offer including squid, halibut, salmon, scallop and mussels. i couldn’t have asked for more than celebrating with great company in a great atmosphere. time really flew us by; we’ve been keeping it steady and strong. three months ago, i couldn’t imagine what i was getting myself into; today, i can’t imagine what it would have been without

day 1007 – duo birthday

image

celebrating our birthdays together with fine dining up at seasons in the park. the patio view looking at downtown coupled with the delicacy made it very enjoyable. then mo pulled a few strings and surprised me with a mousse birthday cake. i must admit he caught me off guard but made the evening that much more incredible. i must stay alert and can never be too comfortable because he’ll throw a curveball at me when i least expect it. the night would have been near perfect if it weren’t for the brief drizzle; but we improvised with a plan b. it was a very special night and i couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate our birthdays

day 477 – aburi

image

nothing like spending quality time having japanese dinner with a good friend of mine. menu had so many yummy choices and all their dishes was set up with¬†creative presentations like sashimi served on a block of ice and aburi with radish flower in wine glass.¬†it’s a tiny little japanese restaurant on commercial drive and seating fills up fast. definitely a hidden gem full of good food
