day 540 – mri

image

i find that hospitals are always so poorly labelled i am never able to find what i am intending to do. either that or st paul’s hospital is designed to be an intended maze. i probably spent a good twenty minutes and walked through the entire first and second floor before finding the radiology centre. i had to stay still for the duration of the scan with my arm and wrist fixed in strap and stuck in a vacuum-like tube that constantly emitted loud beeping sounds, but somehow i was able to fall asleep throughout all that. i must be tired

day 502 – sweats

image

couldn’t wait any longer to wear my new vdl sweats out, first off, to physio because its comfy and warm. pleasant surprise to hear that both my knees are fine and progressively getting stronger, meaning my hard work is paying off. before i feel too good, he completely crushed my shin into bits and hurt me like there’s no tomrorow. still have to worry about my wrist moving onto further scans and tests to see what’s the underlying problem

day 500 – tier champ

image

better believe it, we swept all our series enroute to claiming our title, but none of our games were really dominated. throbocops first season was a success and there’s no shame being tier 6 champ. i guess i am one step closer to being champions of every tier, four more to go. dodgeball season 18 officially comes to a close for me and that can’t be better news for my physio, kinesiologists and friends who worry about me and my ailing wrist more so than me myself. this also happens to be the day my blog turns 500 days old

day 486 – getting rays

image

waking up early on a saturday morning for some rays. so glad the wait wasn’t long, was in and out within fifteen minutes. i personally rather get the results after my dodgeball playoffs are over cause i am going to be playing regardless of the outcome. under such circumstance, no pan-am competition is probably a good thing for my beaten body anyways. i don’t know if these results matter that much knowing i have to take further tests

day 485 – walk in clinic

image

when i walked in, and all i see is one counter, a red wall and a grey wall and only realized there were doors when a doctor came out of nowhere. this has got to be the most peculiar looking walk in clinic ever but the doctor was awesome because i got the referrals i needed. if only my family doctor was like this then i wouldn’t avoid seeing her unless i was in dire need

day 475 – physioterrorist

image

wrist took a series of unfavorable blows this past week which caused it to be pretty much next to useless. though my left hand is much weaker in comparison, it is used extensively and losing function changes all complexity. driving is made tenfold more difficult since i am a left handed driver.  a much needed check up with my physio to fix that ailing wrist and seized up leg. after some excruciating pain, i was told to stay put for next twenty four hours and do nothing beyond walking and heat pad

day 472 – bruise lots

image

feels like i am bruising by the minute and i just can’t stop it from accumulating. this is just a portion of the eleven bruises on my legs, there’s also several on my arms and back. i must have done something sometime when i clearly had no awareness. also banged up my wrist big time it’s completely out of commission to hold or do anything. better fix some of this soon or will be a shocker when my parents return

day 441 – last minute tune up

image

doing some last minute tuning before heading south for competition this weekend. there was something noticeably wrong with my wrist, but was also told knee cap was once again shifted out. that took me by surprise because i was feeling and functioning just fine since last visit. i guess my body has lost the ability to feel. this brings bad news to my dodgeball team because it means i must take the night off all physical activities

day 346 – failing wrist

image

spent a good twenty minutes in the washroom preparing myself to hit the courts for some light hitting. a sprained wrist doesn’t stop me from doing much especially when it comes to doing what i love. it took a long time to get this done because i am noob at taping wrists, but it looks and feels decently stable. this could yield a weird tan but i couldn’t care less as long as it works

day 113 – cold as ice

image

it’s freezing cold at night and i already cannot feel my own hands and feet at regular temperature. but doing as i was told to ice my swollen wrist for some unknown reason. please don’t tell me this will be an addition to my already long list of injuries because there is already a lot to attend to
