day 2676 – vessi beach

brought my vessis out to centennial beach hoping to have better luck this time with the low tide. unfortunately even today’s lowest tide was still too much for what we want to achieve in the video. at least i got a chance to do my day sixty nine back tuck video on the beach. today’s a tuck a day video takes on a different approach than the previous. it was my friends’ idea so i just let them do their thing and posted it as is

day 1859 – golden ears park

i needed all the rest i could get the day after doing a massive unplanned hike of over eight hours. what was suppose to be an easy nine kilometre hike turned into an off route, stream crossing hike of over twenty five. a day where i amassed forty one thousand steps is by far the highest my fitbit ever registered. i don’t want to move for anything or anyone, and pretty much stayed stationary most of the day

harrison holiday

for as long as i can remember, my weekend can never been classified relaxing. spending my rare weekend off with mo at harrison was an enjoyable and relaxing one. we had our active moments hitting the gym, hitting tennis balls, hitting golf balls and hitting the water. we also had our relaxing moments just soaking in the hot springs and hot tub until our skin started peeling. and then i remind myself sometimes it’s okay to indulge and eat a little and drink a little because i keep myself in check mostly for times like this. i would definitely say it was a different kind of weekend than the ones i am accustomed to, but i enjoyed the company and quality time we shared. the weekend getaway with this goof was a memorable one

day 1123 – going natural

image

second day of adventures at harrison was a laid back one. i don’t think my body understands the concept of sleeping in, i naturally woke up at 8am without the help of an alarm. we hit up the driving range and explored bridal falls before taking full advantage of the resort facilities two days in a row, dipping in the hot springs and doing some laps in the pool. been a relaxing trip so far, hopefully it’ll be what i need to recharge me when I return

day 884 – fresh start

image

starting the new year skiing down the powders of cypress. we were one of those eager skiers who beat others up the mountain before the morning rush and out-ski the afternoon skiiers to avoid the evening traffic. i must have done minimum ten runs up and down the mountain before it was all said and done; not bad for my first skiing excursion of the season. my legs are certainly feeling tired after a full day of exertion. had some wipeouts when i unknowingly went on some black diamond runs. the weather was gorgeous, the snow conditions were great, couldn’t have asked for a better way to kickstart a 2016 full of promises

day 845 – gate six

image

it’s chilly but it’s not raining, so why not enjoy a sunday stroll from hipster land to downtown. as long as i am dressed appropriately for this weather, i would be glad to be out making this trek. somewhere in between we stopped for vegetarian food at a hipster restaurant, canucks store at rogers arena, coffee at blenz and vegan gelato in false creek. my first time trying out vegetarian and vegan food; i actually don’t quite mind it at all and debating if i should give converting a try. i really wished my gyms closed later on weekends because i didn’t make it in before it closed

day 834 – i like climbing

image

wandering around false creek on this off day doing what i like to do, climbing things and breaking rules. yes, there’s a sign that says please do not climb, but sometimes it’s worth pushing boundaries. spending remembrance day going about some adventures, then also being proactive and completing a circuit before the day’s end. everything i accomplished felt like a very fulfilling day to me and i really do wish i could have more days where i feel this way

day 754 – conquered chief

image

posing at peak two cause i am asian. all hiked out and legs ready to give in after completing a tiring three peak hike that took just over five hours. it was endless climbing of a natural stair master of over two hundred flights of stairs but in the end the breathtaking view made it all worthwhile. second peak stood out for me because the obstacles and the awesome view really capped it off. it was like parkour, i always knew had a little spiderman in me

hiking adventure – quarry rock

image

wouldn’t have been a fulfilling long weekend if i didn’t get to go out and enjoy the sunshine we’ve been blessed with. got the first hike of this summer out of the way. it’s a fairly short hike and rated one of the easier trails of vancouver so it’s definitely a good place to start. the roundtrip there and back was completed in under one and a half hour, in addition to the time spent taking photos and enjoying the scenery. the view at the peak is beautiful overlooking north vancouver. kayaked at this location a number of times but never have i gotten the view of deep cove from up top. hoping i would be able to go on a longer one with even greater rewards. good thing its just the beginning of august and there’s a whole month left before summer season starts to wrap up

day 734 – quarry rock

image

had bigger hikes in mind for this august long weekend, but my ankle didn’t give me a chance. probably shouldn’t have done this strenuous activity to begin with but forced it to happen and still in one piece all thanks to the tape job that held my ankle together. would have been devastated if i couldn’t at least go on a hike this long weekend, even if it meant quarry rock. it was a good hike nonetheless and the view up top was so relaxing at the same time rewarding. hoping i can do the hike i wanted to before summer’s end
