day 1041 – spartan everyday

after having done my first ever spartan race on saturday, i feel like i could be a spartan everyday. i happily hit the gym on sunday, underestimating what my body had gone through. i only came to realization as i woke up this morning that my legs were jello. i could make excuses for myself, but mondays are never rest days for me – training must be done and dodgeball must go on. pushed myself really hard through a grueling training session today. my legs were no longer under me come dodgeball time, but i enjoy the feelings of pure exhaustion and these are the kind of things i want to be doing

day 719 – locarno beach

a full day of events today running only on three hours of sleep isn’t ideal. at stanley park doing walk with the dragon and playing ultimate, followed by chilling at the beach, paddleboard and more chilling at locarno beach. catching the gorgeous sunset at locarno beach as we walked back to the beach having finished dinner was amazing. this was my first crack at paddleboarding and it was pretty fun, definitely would do it again. a full day out under the sun must have sucked all the water out of me

day 619 – tkd marathon

just got home from friday night training and will be back for saturday morning poomsae training in roughly six hours. i might as well have a sleep over there to get myself more snooze time because i am schedule to train, teach, then train again for a combined ten hours on the mats.i didn’t even bother bringing my uniform and belt home because i will be back in gear in no time

day 418 – mine

these spiffy cards came into the office today. just holding them and looking at them makes me feel a bit better from a sleep deprived and exhausting weekend. it doesn’t make it any better knowing its only the beginning another week and the trek starts all over again. nothing really changes with or without this but now it feels like a somebody and gives me a sense of belonging

day 292 – and that’s a wrap

in downtown staring up at empire state building as toronto and new york trip comes to a close. wrapping up a trip that had everything from training, stress, madness, pure exhaustion, good times, long drives and abundant unexpected circumstances. good bye toronto and new york, until next time

day 245 – routine

fourth day strong and it’s kind of coming back to me and becoming more of a routinea again. daily morning hot chocolate or french vanilla to keep me company and ease myself into the afternoon but the bigger concern is what keeps me awake in the afternoon especially when the weather gets warmer and sun shines brighter. caffeine can only have so much effect until it wears off

day 92 – training hard

instead of setting fireworks, i am spending my halloween night training hard two days before competition. my legs were so messed up as of late, waited long enough finally able to extend and kick without too much abnormal pain. worked hard and repeated each step tens, fifties and hundreds times that my hands are so overworked
