day 2083 – sanders sanding

brought all my plyometric boxes into flightclub so we could all so some sanding together. we waited until the parking lot cleared out before we got started and didn’t finish until well past dinner time. at that point, i was too tired to join them for late night wings, so i went home and ate whatever was leftover. i should have been more prepared to be covered in sawdust. now that sanding is complete, i’m debating if i should do a paint job and add a rubber surface to the tops

day 2015 – romaleos

feeling so excited that my neon nike romaleos 3 was delivered to my doorstep. i’ve never olympic lifted with olympic lifting specific shoes, but i’ve only heard good things about how well it allows you to get under the bar. i notice it’s difficult for me to pull the bar over me which is why i don’t punch the bar aggressively. this should put me into a better position when catching the snatch at the bottom. i can’t wait to try them on the platform and lift bigger weights over my head

day 1854 – treadmill trek

walking through the woods and running through the city while watching federer play the game he knows best. a rare day in the gym without doing squats or any barbell related exercises. i don’t usually do cardio at the gym aside from warmup, but i had to try out their new treadmills with these cool features. i didn’t do any compound movements, but it was enough to know that my shoulder is still nowhere near normal functions. all i wanted to do was insert myself back into some activities

day 1853 – back to flight

trust me i was feeling butterflies even in my veins straggling into the gym not knowing how my body will handle all the movements i’m about to do. aside from a few pieces of new equipment, everything about the place remained the same. i didn’t accomplish a whole lot, but getting through the class was an accomplishment within itself. i felt pleased that i had the guts to go head over heels on my first day back. i’ll take what i’m given for as long as my body takes to settle in. didn’t want to push it too hard and just want to be back tricking and flipping. i know that everything will start to click with time and repetition, but in the mean time it’s just putting in the work. work hard for what i want, but stay patient enough for what i’ve always wanted

day 1678 – surrey central 

two straight sundays i venture into surrey, both times for the reason of going to the hockey shop. dropping off my jersey for a custom stitching and preparing it for the next game. after some browsing in the goalie section, went next door into surrey central to get my half off happy hour matcha tea latte. walked passed club 16 and peeked into the facility. i could get use to see linden’s face each time before heading through the gym doors

day 1648 – equipment haul


just twelve hours later lugging my hockey bag out of killarney, i’m walking into the community centre again, this time with me a bunch of taekwondo equipment. getting back into the thick of teaching isn’t so bad if i didn’t have to deal with a crazy mother who doesn’t think like a regular human. like i’ve said a hundred times and will say again and again; if u’re in it for the belt, u’re in the wrong place cuz i don’t just sell them. it’d save both my time and her money if i just directed her to a martial art store

day 1417 – canucks blowout 

too bad i had to teach and couldn’t go but i sent my parents to canucks inventory blowout sale weekend. my family is avid hockey fans so they came back with a few goods and accessories. lots of game worn equipment and apparel available; i would think about them but too bad their sizes are always too big. i’ve always wanted to try playing in goal but don’t have the right sized equipment to do so
