day 1209 – consolation

it was a good day up to and until that one split second that made it all wrong. from the second i was hit, i was in denial and it was just an illusion. a million thoughts went through my head, from what would happen to my hockey game, to next dodgeball game, to dodgeball playoffs, to working blackbelt test, to my next seasons to come. then this email came and made my night better, a saving grace knowing i’m doing something right. i do believe i’m fine, although i must admit my head does hurt. i’ll wake up tomorrow to a brand new day and i’ll continue to be in denial

day 745 – stocking

my obsession for protein bars and my quest to find the best ones continues. function is important but flavour is also a big factor in complimenting my many moods. stocking up in bulk and ready to go because i will be needing them. don’t mind me, i haven’t gone crazy but just doing what i need to do because this is the only way i can ever get enough protein intake in a day

resolution series: [thirty] save up

often when the the topic of saving comes up, everyone immediately thinks of the bling. but sometimes you have to look at a broader picture of wealth. by definition, wealth means assets; it does not only come in money value, but also comes in knowledge and experience that you possess and the quality of people that surround you. i consider my family an asset, for they are who have raised me, who taught me everything i know and gave me everything i have. i share all my past with them and they do the same with me. the amount of support i receive from them over the years is immeasurable and cannot be calculated in any currency. friends is another asset, because they are who you grow up with, learn from and play alongside. together, we shared countless memories that no one can take away from us. and then of course there’s the financial side of wealth, which unfortunately no one can live without. to save up is to make sure you retain those valuable connections with family, friends, teammates and soul mates. for those you want to continue growing old with, treat them well and take care of the relationships you don’t want to go without. being successful starts now, in planning ahead and building up for the future in all aspects including people. every small increment will grow and over time and will add up over time

reality in the making

ever had those dreams where when you wake up you don’t recall much of what happened or only recall fragmented pieces that doesn’t link up?? those temporary dreams that don’t make a lasting impression are not of my concern. when a dream worth achieving, it is a dream worth working for. a timely post to remind myself about discipline and self control because i have been doing poorly in that regard as of late. i guess that’s what separates dreams from reality and the mediocres and the good. thanks for always nudging me back on track when i start straying, reminding me the importance of the game plan and forever pushing me to do better. although sometimes it’s pretty brutal the way you put it, and you make me feel a little more useless than i need to. it is that guilt trip that lets me know i am not doing it right, that i can always do better. it takes a lot of commitment to make a dream into reality but once i put my mind to it, its reality in the making

day 474 – lifting

strength isn’t about pushing others down so you can stand on top of them, its using your strength to lift others when time arise. if you are incapable of putting them to use for the right reasons, it doesn’t matter how strong you are physically. and so as i am learning to lift, i am also learning to become stronger to lift others in different ways. working my way up from an empty bar getting proper technique down is the main focus and i know once i have the foundation, the plates will come naturally. it hasn’t been long since i started, but found out i am quite addicted to this already and its something i want to progress with
