day 1262 – tofu fanatic

the whole family gathered to celebrate my dad’s birthday. there were many dishes on the table just like any typical chinese seafood restaurant, but this was by far my favourite dish. i enjoyed a good sit down meal with my family, we haven’t had much opportunity to engage like tonight. thankful i made it to friday. this week has been brutal as i had wavering moments and tons on my mind. it’s not resolved, but i’m holding it together

day 1252 – crunch time

new mug for crunch time to start a highly anticipated year. it’s the time to get back with my plans and grind even harder than before. back to work and upping my game so i can work harder, train smarter, eat better, stay healthier and get adequate sleep. it was a rough night of sleep last night; it’ll take some time to adjust my body clock to 6am mornings again. the night was eased with a good dinner out for papa ng’s birthday dinner

day 1230 – blackcomb slopes

hitting the slopes for day two with this one. the skiing condition was great on blackcomb and even had snow making machines spitting out more powder; the sun was out but it was so cold i couldn’t feel my hands or feet. this one kept complaining about his feet and quad tiredness. would have liked to get more skiing in, but i’ll have my chances in the upcoming weeks. spent the night enjoying a nice steak dinner at earls and spiked drink

day 1185 – woodburn night

another early morning to check into the convention centre by 7am. both poomsae and sparring divisions had some high calibre athletes. after a full morning being at the competition, we went for an early italian dinner before hitting up woodburn. it was time to relax and do some shopping at the outlet, but the many sales made me quite anxious. there’s so much i want to buy, but i managed not to splurge on all my wants

day 1145 – sunday split shift

started like any other sunday morning teaching taekwondo, met up for some skating practice, then did my coaching and training while he went to the gym. we soon reconvened for dinner to enjoy our sashimi and cold ramen before finishing our laid back evening. we make the most out of our split shifts. it was a pleasant day doing things we enjoy doing. my legs and glutes are going to hurt from having so much training in the past days and definitely lacking massage and rolling

day 1137 – red meat

i hardly cook anything besides tofu and chicken, but while my parents are on vacation, i decide to experiment in the kitchen with steak and spaghetti. my main focus was not to set the house on fire; not breaking anything was a plus and the dinner for two was a bonus. after a tiresome day of teaching for the start of killarney fall term, i could definitely use some medium rare protein

day 1088 – lemon dishes

my parents taking me out for dinner on one of the rare days i have a sit down meal with them. it’s important i let them have a piece of my mind; at least now they have an idea of what’s going through my head. they took my opinions and thoughts relatively well. even though it seems like nothing is resolved, i do feel relieved to let it out. i no longer want to be carrying this rock on my shoulders because it’s a neverending burden
