day 1851 – itshoni

an afternoon of taekwondo as usually, followed by a dinner with parents; this time dinner is on me. i held back on the news about my remuneration until today simply because i wanted to save it until i had a chance to take them out. they were surprised and very stoked when i finally let the cat out of the bag. we went to a restaurant called sushi itstoni, but didn’t actually serve any sushi. the food we ordered were delicious, especially the beef ribs, bibimbap, and not to overlook the typical korean appetizers. we left the restaurant with our stomachs full, but more importantly, i knew they were proud of me. seeing their proud smiles is worth it even though they didn’t know how much grief i went through to get this deserving raise

day 1745 Рmom appreciation

the fact my family is going on vacation starting tomorrow means an early mothers day celebration. i don’t show enough, but i truly appreciate my supermom that never fails to take care of me. we rarely go out for vietnamese food cause my parents don’t like the seating, but had to try this place since it’s a highly touted authentic vietnamese restaurant. the lineup outside is always so long, somehow we got a table within fifteen minutes of waiting. this prices wasn’t cheap for sure, but the food was really good, especially the lemon grass chicken. when i said may is a busy month, i do mean it

day 1706 – joey’s night

first workout of april in the books; despite not feeling great, i got it started again. at night, the tong family went out to joey’s for an early celebration of my brother’s birthday. it was a tough toss up between the farmers market chicken salad and steak frites. in the end i ordered the steak frites which had the smaller version of prime sirloin, greens and joey’ssignature signature skinny fries. it was a pricey meal, but sharing a birthday is always a special occasion. i spent a lot of time with my family this weekend and that’s what long weekend is all about – rest and family time

day 1646 Рcampagnolo

consider it a reunion with the little intern that decided to invite us out after her vacation. i miss having her at the office to troll on a daily basis and i’m sure she misses being trolled too. the four of us shared a lot of good laughs over fancy antipasti and secondi. i understood very few words on the menu and was determined to order the dish with the most complicated name. all the rustic italian delicacy we ordered were delicious but it the spinach pizza won my heart. i hope the four of us can get together again soon to continue our unfinished business
