day 1965 – star performer

i must say getting a star performer plaque for the year was the pleasant surprise. it has been a crazy stressful year. many days i just go about my business and work my butt to make all the deadlines. it’s good to know that the hardwork and dedication to hold this fort down didn’t go unnoticed. and this year i showed up to harrison to represent the design tech team

day 1912 – design table

the new drawers we put in to the plant production finally came into the design studio. it was a massive unit hence it was a big struggle maneuvering and lifting the quartz top. with the help of eight people, we managed to transport the old out and new in. i’m just relieved the cabinet fit into the space or else all fingers points at me. the new drawers definitely puts a big upgrade to the design table and design area as a whole

day 1898 – venom

couldn’t turn down an offer to go for old spaghetti factory dinner and dbox venom with the design team. this is one was on management for having followed through within an ultra optimistic deadline. i lazied out and didn’t read up on it or watch the trailer, but i really enjoyed the movie a lot more than what the mediocre reviews says. hopefully i’ll get more time to catch a few more new releases in theatres

day 1811 – cora farewell

one of the leads is unfortunately leaving us for another opportunity. the design team went out for a farewell breakfast at cora’s before work. i had so much work to do in order to prepare for my lunch and learn presentation. i hadn’t got a chance to drink, eat, go to the washroom, check emails or talk to anyone. i was nervous leading up the presentation for i was about to stand in front of half the company, some of which are my bosses, to share my team’s knowledge. after a successful presentation, lunch and two more meetings, i finally sat down at my desk to eighteen unread emails. it’s been a whirlwind kind of day, but there’s many good things to take away from it

day 1783 – magazine famous

the year-long development of millennial that was not without stress finally paid its dividends. best part of design is when your work or final product gets featured in a magazine. how rewarding it is to have my development appear in a hd expo design magazine. it was a whole team effort that made this happen. this is my first appearance in a magazine and what an unreal feeling it is. let’s keep it coming with the future collections and designs

day 1741 – triple monitors

others be jealous seeing i’m getting new graphics card and third monitor in place. the new twenty two inch looks out of its class sitting beside my twin towers of twenty sevens. as if i wasn’t already screened by the two ginormous monitors, now i’ll be barried behind the wall of monitors modeling away. with bpm about to be implemented, the additional monitor will be a necessity. is productivity also measured with an increase thirty three percent

day 1731 – project overload

it’s design reshuffle day and coordinated much of the move, but i was also the culprit who stalled the whole process. essentially everyone was waiting for me to move out of my workstation before they can move in, but i was adamant of replying four nasty emails. the bombardment of emails overnight came from someone who had no business in minding my projects; she’s not my manager and i need not report to her. she’s been slowly working at some leads and managed to break two. she’s turned her attention to me but has yet to find a way to unravel me. some say i’m really good with keeping my poker face and not getting to me has quite frustrated her. i felt the need to reply all four of them in a way to show she’s got nothing on me. i stand up for not only myself, but for the rest of my design team
