day 1905 – backlogged

resuming daily work activities after three consecutive days locked away for training wasn’t exactly a gentle ease. not only do i have to tend to the excessive amount of emails, many project requests, prepare for conference call, but also had to look after the dishes. i uploaded one batch first thing in the morning, ran another load right away and to my dismay, there’s still people leaving dirty dishes in the sink while the dishwasher is perfectly empty. i spent pretty much all day catching up and didn’t even get around to doing any project work

day 1899 – cloudkicks

it was definitely an eye opening and jaw dropping event at flightclub this evening. trickers came from all over north america including calgary, seattle, california, illinois and even hawaii. everyone who came to battle was showcasing how they could defy gravity with triples and quads. though i just went into the clinic to realign my back, i still forced it to attend class and then the special seminars held by loopkicks thereafter. seeing what can be done inspires me with what i can learn

day 1879 – teaching shifts

two teaching shifts after lots of jamming isn’t ideal. not the best day of teaching at taekwondo having to deal with a number of difficult students. the first hour had a handful of uncooperative students while managing a class of thirty two very beginner class. one kid wouldn’t follow instructions, one wouldn’t stop complaining, and one wouldn’t move and kept crying. i couldn’t attend to at the same time, but i did the best i could out of the gongshow situation. survived the day on two peanut butter toasts and a sore throat

day 1845 – playoff craze

this is the crazy stretch where all my playoffs happen. woke up for an 8am start to play four softball games before we got knocked out. i hit up 8 rinks straight from the field for a hockey game; my legs were dead when i got to the rink. what a run for espr, making it to the quarter finals is quite an accomplishment. this team keeps improving and we’re only raising the bar for the next season. i feel fortunate to be able to return in time for playoffs after being sidelined for four weeks. i got home from all that activity and fell asleep even when sitting and rolling on the floor

day 1837 – work hours

what has my work hours become better be temporary. i’m on my work laptop saturday night hammering out some project work after my teaching shift. i pulled out the laptop thinking i’ll get some work done. what was intended to be a one hour thing soon became a four hour thing. i’m burnt out from the amount a work a week because over sixty five hours just isn’t normal nor healthy

day 1765 – kp time

decided living off tape to walk normally wasn’t sustainable, so went in to the clinic to fix my neck, knee and ankle. i walked into physio clinic with many things that was either tight or wasn’t feeling right, but walked out with assurance i’ll be able to move properly again. crazy its been twenty years since my physio opened this clinic and even crazier thinking what i would have done the past fourteen years if it weren’t for him. i hope he never retires so i can continue to ham with everything i do and everything i want to do

day 1743 – repose

i miss the gym, a lot, but i’m going to resist from going to the gym for at least two more days. i need the rest and my body needs to recover after such a crazy but fun-filled birthday week of festivities. when i step back into the gym, i want to be fresh and ready to begin my new program. let me relinquish the feeling of not being sore for forty more odd hours because once the grind starts, maybe i’ll only feel soreness. spent an evening catching up on my news feed and tvb drama
