day 1979 – casino countdown

i still have a hard time believing 2018 gas flown by so quickly. i didn’t get to countdown last year so making up for it this year at river rock. the whole casino was packed with people trying to get their last gambling in before the new year. the hype happened at the foyer where the dj blasted music and threw confetti while two performers were suspended from the ceiling. after the countdown, i also did some gambling at the craps tables before calling it a night while getting my last bubble tea in for the year

day 1543 – muggy days

a whole week of wet and muggy weather further dampens my already bad mood at the moment. day fourteen of being in a splint and i can’t help but feel very depressed that i can’t do seemingly basic things. others just see me as being grumpy; it’s hard for anyone to understand what it means to me to be on the sideline missing out what i love doing. i’m doing everything to the best of my abilities, and that makes people forget how much pain and inconvenience i’m in. the countdown continues, but the thought of taking the risk is always on my mind

day 1356 – robot league

the hype of robot war league just got higher after i got my baymax shirt specially delivered. what’s also hyping is the countdown to my sunny vacation is within twenty four hours away. worked really hard in the past months and definitely earned this time off, both away from work and away from home. i hope it bodes everything that i have been looking forward to and i can’t wait to enjoy my vacation hitting up the sunny state that hosts disneyworld

day 1233 – wind up

doing a lot of rdl graphics work recently have a final wrap up of a successful season 5 but also frantically preparing for the start of season 6. we literally have three weeks to prepare for everything that takes full flight after the holidays; i am sure there’s a ton on the agenda for tomorrow’s exec meeting. it also occurred to me christmas day is exactly ten days away but the better news is my holiday starts in eight days

back in town counting down the final hours of our brief vacation, but first a stop at our old faithful for some classic noodles. it was a good time off and somewhat rejuvenating, only much too short. i’ll spend the remaining hours getting ready and unclog my mind because in a few hour i’ll get back to reality and working my butt off; there’s some things i want to reset and restart

day 1178 – get up and go

image

felt strong on this friday morning workout; the reset probably had some affect. still didn’t manage much sleep but energy level was decent enough to push through as the day unfolded. getting through the lifts a little easier with each successive workout, but i’ll keep it as is until i get back from portland. a week out of competition, i am not quite sure how i am feeling. competition aside, i’m unclear why i ¬†feel the way i do, or maybe it doesn’t even matter anymore

solo series [day twelve]

woke up without a plan but turns out to be fairly eventful. with a transit day pass, we had the luxury of taking multiple lines at any point throughout the day. from there on, we covered a few more attractions including osaka castle, science centre, aquarium, and largest ferris wheel in asia. we inadvertently passed by a judo dojo and caught some kids in action. i wasn’t too keen on hitting up any more department stores, but my mother wasn’t finished shopping. i am done shopping, done walking and done spending

i can’t seem to buy sleep on this trip; my body clock wakes me up at 4am each day. that’s not usual because i can typically fall asleep anywhere. i guess i’ll make it up on the plane or when i get back

tomorrow i will be in transit again, this time a nine and a half hour direct flight back to vancouver. shortly after arriving in yvr airport, mo and i will be reunited. the countdown has now changed to hours instead of days. we couldn’t be happier that the countdown is in its final hours

this wraps up my entire asia summer trip with family. it’s been fun and adventurous, but at the same time draining in far too many ways. my ankles and knees have taken a beating from averaging 20000 steps a day. my body tells me it’s about time to head back to vancity because that’s where my heart is. it hasn’t exactly been a restful vacation, but i needed some time away from my regular routine. i am definitely ready to go home to make some important life decisions, get back on my grind and of course spend lots of time with mo
