day 1997 – planet ice delta

playing forward at delta for the first time this season and it paid off. i finally scored my first goal this season and it was quite the beauty. swooped into the offensive zone and one-timed a big rebound off the end boards. it was a big win for the team that put us at the top of our division; definitely worth celebrating upstairs at boomers bar and grill. i did what i had to do so i’m content going back on defense for the remainder of the season

day 1298 – diy

each person had to design a board based on the value they’ve chosen. teamwork is mine and it is definitely one i can relate to based on all the things i do. what looked like a simple carving task didn’t turn out to be one. it takes a lot more to be a good carver but i’m content with how it turned out. two hours of drilling is hard on my hands and ears. it took a hot shower to regain some senses in my arm

day 976 – big day

time to take it out on the mats in oregon. competing in three events at this year’s us world open and no matter how many competition i have been to, i am still feeling the pre-competition jitters. it was a long and tiring day at the competition with a super early start. started off well for my pairs showing, followed by a disastrous effort for team, but capped it off nicely with a strong performance for individual. at the end of my third event, i can finally rest easy and chill a little with my mentee. i can only afford to relax knowing i gave it my everything and left everything on the mat. i dare say i am content with my performance and can head home feeling a little proud of myself as well

day 416 – pistol squat

image

stuck around after class to attempt my first pistol squat since terribly messing up my knee. a little shaky and not in the best form but all is good when i was able to do a few without experiencing pain. it took me quite a while to train for this and certainly involved a lot of pushing and still only able to complete it on my right, but still work in progress. thank you for making it possible even though i said it wasn’t possible and you single handedly erased my doubts. i am glad i can still maintain this ability even having not done it in over a month, never want to lose it
