day 2190 – pr clean

since i’m expecting deloading week to come soon, i just went for it. this would be the heaviest clean i’ve ever done and i’m truly proud of it. in the past i’ve only hovered around one hundred fifteen, rarely get into the twenties because i struggled to get out of the bottom position. my front squat have improved so much since joining apex that this weight was easily handled. i have had my eyes set on the one plate ever since i started getting the hang of olympic cleans, but who knows, maybe one day i can even make the reds

day 2139 – back on the grind

i didn’t waste any time in getting back on the olympic lifting grind. not having snatched or cleaned for three weeks has had much effect on me. my workout consisted of both and i found both to be extra challenging. timing is everything for any olympic lift, every little segment of the lift matters in whether it’ll be a hit or miss. finished it off with some back squats. i didn’t do any heavy lifts today, but i anticipate i’ll be fairly sore after this workout

day 1707 Рautowest servicing

the few downsides to driving expensive cars is the hefty expenses it comes with. took my beemer into autowest for my annual service which cost nearly a grand to do. it’s due for some bigger maintenance including spark plugs, brake fluid, oil change and fifty five point inspection. that’s quite a lot to service but no complaints on the service and shuttle pickups provided. my shadow left the dealership sparkling clean and ready to rock and roll

day 1496 – summer cleaning

collecting all my hockey gear that i used to take over the porch this weekend. people say their water turns murky black after soaking their gear; mine didn’t change colour so i’m not sure if i did it right. regardless, it was the small window of offseason; i now have clean gear to use in anticipation of a busy season of hockey. i find labour day weekend is all about cleaning and catch up work, as if i was getting ready to go back to school

day 1305 – wash and dry

despite sleeping at 2 in the morning, i naturally woke up early as usual. morning was a little laid back as i had no urgency to wake up immediately so i slept in a little before giving my filthy shadow a little quick wash. it took a little longer than i thought so didn’t have much time for a lunch before it was time for taekwondo. i could have joined my rdl social, but after a seven hour taekwondo shift, i was too tired and turned for home. i could use the personal space just to think and straighten some things out

day 1236 – hit hard

image

i think i made a bad decision to go in without adequate rest, and one little mental lapse was all it took. i was hit hard and my workout ended prematurely; that’s one way of driving me out of the gym. the rest of the day was a struggle and slightly blurred. in hindsight, i’m fortunate i wasn’t knocked out and could still walk out under my own power. i know i need to do something, but clueless as to what i should do and which physician to consult

day 1201 – oval day

image
we don’t go to the richmond olympic oval often, but when we do, we pack our day at the oval with nonstop events. warmed up with some basketball shoot around, rallied and had a friendly badminton match before hitting the main event – fitness centre. so thrilling to be olympic lifting on platforms for the first time and dropping them like a boss without receiving death glares. first platform experience and i made it worthwhile by setting a clean pr. after all that, ended our night swinging away at the batting cage. we rarely have days like this to ourselves, but i definitely enjoyed the day
