day 2102 – matcha birthday

an action packed birthday that came with many surprises. since i was up early for my parents’ flight, i stopped to get the my free frappuccino birthday drink – most expensive drink of their menu. the afternoon was spent at gstrings playoffs. though questionable about the tiering, we played our hardest and fought until the very end. the girls surprised me by bringing me a post playoff¬† birthday cake. a dinner with the squirtle girls followed by our regular saturday night hockey. i’m very happy to have capped off the eventful day with two goals at civil war. i had an amazing birthday doing the activities i enjoy, with the some of the most lovable people

day 2095 – xingfu tea

i didn’t do what i wanted to do this morning – have my xrays taken. it would have been a killer to wake up at 8am after a late night for walk in clinic. one thing i did do was stop at the newest bubble tea shop after our civil war game. i ordered their speciality brown sugar pearl with milk tea. it tasted good, but nothing crazy enough for me to line up for. in fact, i probably would prefer something else because it was too sweet for my normal liking. drinks aside, i just like to hang out with this bunch after games

day 2081 – triad jerseys

my linemates looking sharp in our new triad jersey and posing with them after game before the zamboni rushed us off the ice. i wasn’t so keen on having the light jerseys for civil war again, but they turned out nicer than the other team’s. my line didn’t score tonight and it’s my fault because i was robbed point blank. i really wasn’t having my night and had an earful after the game. i was told to play harder instead of playing down to my opponents’ level

day 2074 – killarney class

my weekly saturday ritual consists of teaching at killarney and the new civil war season that just started up again. it was crazy hectic today,¬† for it was the first class of the term, preparing students for belt test while teaching with two less instructors. it’s true my work week doesn’t really end of friday, and sometimes doesn’t even end of sunday. i enjoy teaching, but weeks like this i do need a break in between before another work week begins

day 1844 – portabella burger

with the completion of civil war comes the season end barbecue. classic portabella mushroom burger is actually using a portabella as the top bun. it was a bit disappointing to run out of food at a barbecue. i didn’t get my weiner but i guess my body didn’t have use for that extra calories. we had to order church’s chicken just to feed the crew. just a night chilling with people i play with and against. i also got four big mosquito bites from the night even though i applied bug spray

day 1816 – short bench

i got home from two games of hockey and collapsed on the floor. first of the two was as epic as it will ever get: an ultra short bench with six players and a goalie. one sub through forty five minutes of play and my legs were so done after jabba i didn’t think i had it in me to play a second game. luckily my mental state overpowered my physical and forced my legs to keep skating until the end of civil war. i ended up playing a pretty solid game and scoring another goal. now leading all rookies in both goals , points and shots on goal. after all the physical output, i deserve all the rest i can get tomorrow

day 1802 – drink the pink

its an activities overload kind of day and there wasn’t much of a meal at all. lunch was banana pancakes, pregame was banana pancakes, between games was snack wrap and post game was e-noodle and ice cream. my legs gave were long dead my jdp game was over but still must play my heart out for civil war. i ended up scoring the prettiest goal of my life – stole the puck off a forecheck and deked out the goalie to roof it. too bad there was no go pro present to record the epic goal. there’s still so much i need to clean up in my game, but i’m happy i played my heart out today and make a statement. it’s extra sweet for all the criticism i took last week
