it’s always a special occasion when the best mom i know is celebrating her birthday. together, we celebrated at western lake restaurant with some chinese food. as the years pass by, the amount of time i spend with her lessens and is sporadic at times. my schedule is horrendously packed on a regular basis, but i do what i can to set aside time for family. for that reason, having everyone together like tonight is important. i’ll continue to re-evaluate my priorities to see how i can better manage everything else on my plate
i don’t recall the last time i ate dimsum, but it’s safe to say i can now eat them guilt free. my love for malaysian cake, ha gao and rice rolls never changed. switching up the diet has its perks for reasons i can enjoy food with variety. since the switch, my appetite has improved significantly, or maybe it’s just a result of improvement in my overall state of mind. either way, the trend is heading in the right place in multiple aspects of my life
mom’s birthday means getting the family together and usually defaults to chinese restaurant. i did not survive the dinner and cake too well. i regret touching half the food that i had; i feel heavy and slowed for drop in hockey and the scale confirms that. eating was poor today but special occasions like this is sometimes unavoidable. i will gladly get back on it and undo the damage. enjoyed celebrating the birthday of the woman who brought me to earth
another annual success walk with the dragon appreciation dinner in the books. typical asian dinners with plates coming every so often, where you will always see food left on the table. and food just keeps coming even though everyone at the table is stuffed. not all the dishes were suitable for me, but perks of being a small eater cause i was pretty much full after the few appetizer dishes. got myself a lucky draw tee that doesn’t fit me, but a win is a win.
one of the several lamb and oily meat dishes of the night. i have never heard of this before today, but this is indeed pizza with lamb toppings. it tasted good on the first bite, but too much meat and too salty to my liking. i am certain my sensitive digestive system will let me know about it later on
